  1. I went down to the family courts for a copy of mine last week, it was a fiver
  2. I'm not suprised they are winding up, about four years ago I had a huge amount of excellent baby stuff. There was a perfect pram, saftey gates, cot and lots of other stuff they could have made use of. I phoned them to ask if they would like them, the bloke was quite rude on the phone and said basically if I would not deliver the items they would not be intrested, not being able to drive I could not deliver them. If that bloke spoke to most of the other potential donators like he did me I bet they got very little to recycle.
  3. They have been building them for a few months now, the rooms seemed to come ready made on the back of a lorry! Probably explaining why it went up so quick. The lorrys made loads of mess on the road, dragging mud from the site allover. Bet theres loads of rooms in that site, so the 40 will be full of freshers once again.
  4. I think Smeltings have quite a large waiting list from what I hear.
  5. Mine too.. I think long hair makes a bloke look very nice:D My beloved has had lovley long hair for many years, Infact he locked himself out the other day and walked on to meet me..when I saw him at the other side of the road I did a little swoon He would probably wear it down if it did not get in his face, and then he would look twice as .. I say longlive men with pony tails and flowing long locks
  6. Best of luck finding someone, If I were a little lighter I would have loved to have helped out. You would have thought that there were lots of light riders out there. I'm just waiting myself for a part loan to come up at the yard I go to.
  7. Whats your charge for taking items to the auction? I think the one your talking about is E.L.R
  8. Is Elsecar in Barnsley? the only problem I have is not driving so I was thinking of somewhere a little closer to home. Mind you if they give fair prices I may be better organising some transport, the other thing thats worrying me is getting ripped off because I have no idea what the value of the items is. I have seen tables that look the same as mine selling on traders websites for a few grand. And I don't want to get conned into selling for peanuts if I can have a little more.
  9. I have an old vicorian farmhouse table and a lovley old art decco mirror(i love it but am in the minority), sadly they will never be used and I am thinking of putting them up for sale. I have never sent anything to auction before and was hoping someone could give me a little advice as to where to send them and what the best thing to do is. Would I be better going to a dealer or using an auctioneer? If someone could point me towards the sort of places I should be aproaching that would be fantastic .
  10. We would of prehaps been a little understanding if the dealer who took the car in and serviced it when they took in on a part exchange had spotted the serious problems. When we took the car back three days after buying it the service team at Evans said it was a simple seal problem and the leak was engine oil. Service Dept said 200 quid plus to fix, not coverd because it was not one of the listed parts on the warenty. We decided to take it to our regular mechanic, who on looking at the car said it was not a seal the oil was infact gear box oil and should be sorted by the dealer, he also pointed out that a seal being replaced would normally cost about 60 quid. reluctantly they replaced the gearbox but it took lots of hassle to get them to do so. three months later the bloody engine went costing a fortune. On the whole I found the after care down there to be shocking. Fair enough sales men are just earning a living, but if they are doing it buy selling goods not fit for use the reputation and sales are not going to last very long.
  11. You wont need a sick note for the first seven days you can self cert.
  12. We bought one from them a few years ago, had nothing but problems with it. came with a cracked gear box..had to go back..then the engine needed rebuilding after a few months, can't comment on the finance side as we have never used it. I'd say look over the car carefully before you buy. We recently used the Car People for the old bangers replacement, must say they were very friendly, helpfull and very non pushy. I believe they also do credit for people who want it, not sure what the A.P.R is but I guess it will be sky high like the other firms.
  13. Can anyone give me opinions of kitchen unit suppliers and tilers, after having the house rewired we need to replace the kitchen and retile it. Based on recent experience can anyone recomend the best place for units? I have had a look at Wickes and thought they looked quite good, can any one vouch for quality. I also wonderd if any one can recomend a trustworthy workman who installs kitchens and prehaps does tiling too.
  14. Why are they digging the big hole? is it somthing to do with the sports field being dug up too?
  15. My just turned six month old bibbly baby has been a little loose in the old stool dept. He's not unwell with it, but has has several 'blow outs' a recently. He's not off his food and is still an excellent natured little fellow, but is a litle crabby at times and has periods of bright red cheeks and excess dribble. I am presuming this is the start of teething because he has started to get up at night again. My other two both had different symptoms to teething, one had ear infection after ear infection and the other just did not sleep and had a nappy rash. Has ayone else noticed that the onset of teething has resulted in loose bowels? He is not unwell as I have said so I am reluctant to drag him along to the G.P if it's just triggerd by his teeth comming, with the G.P being so very busy at the moment and full of germs:gag:
  16. Thanks for this, I have had a policy with them for a number of years without claiming. I may ring them and ask what they would do If I lost a set of house keys. I'd phone up and kick off, what if someone has your lost set and nicks the van... should they not replace the locks? is that possible on a van?
  17. I have two black rocks and a bluebelle, the black rocks are really friendly and are good layers. One of my black rocks is three years old this year and still laying nearly every day. we got two from Storrs last year when our isa brown shook a seven and left the other hen alone, it may be worth pointing out that the road down to storrs is quite rural and not good for low cars. We almost took the bottom of ours out going down
  18. I ran in and fetched everyone out to see them! I can not begin to imagine how they sounded in the war flying over enmass. It certainly made me get all goosebumpy watching them.
  19. I think it may be some sort of key cutting/shoe repair type place, but we are not entirley sure this is correct.
  20. SBS moved us a few years ago, and they were worth every penny an excellent service. Lets hope the new owners can keep the standard up
  21. My youngster was diganosed with tonsillitis a few weeks ago after an inital display of flu like symptoms, when he first started with flu like symptoms N.H.S direct did not want to know, regardless of the fact we are so close to a few of the schools that had outbreaks. After him being ill for two days with a raging temp, the G.P co-op sent out a Dr to test him for Flu. He never got the swabs, because the G.P said he had tonsillitis. I have often wonderd if he actually had tonsillitus because he never mentioned soreness in his thoat. He mentioned everything else the aches, headache and at times double vision.
  22. I do not want to seem untrusting, but judging by your previous posts you are not 14
  23. It's now at the northern general, we had to take the baby the other night. Right trek compared to the old one at Hallamshire
  24. They are great, we were out in the sun the other day, our oldest lady likes to sit on the back door step and make chirriping noises at me the cat dared to pass her and it was so comical. The cat slunk past the hen, who puffed herself up to look twice as big and sort of made a half hearted attempt to give er a quick peck.. poor cat
  25. Some types of food poisening take 4 hours to take effect, I know this from when my O/H was taken ill on holiday. The medic who attended said four hours was about right for the symptoms he was showing from the time we ate. That was fish incidently
