  1. it's belting it down in lodgemoor.. with snow
  2. Mine was the Least mad ever! I have two poorly children at home, who in all certainty will still be ill on xmas day poor things have both gone down with some nasty cold type virus that develops into a chest infection. Eldest one has just started his antibiotics, the baby started yesterday with it and I have woken this morning all stuffy and coughing so looks like we will be having a mad Monday at the G.P's. Fun!
  3. it was snowing up here at Lodgemoor when I got up at six, huge flakes aswell. had stopped by 6;30
  4. Our cat never had the delight of a cat flap untill we moved here, the previous owner had installed a cat flap. Our furry buddy up untill them used to opn the door by swinging off the handle. It took a while for her to get used to the flap, i'll never forget the day I got home from work and found four cats curled up in the house! and our cat making herself 'look big' in the hallway. The only problem we get now is the occasional visit from the mooching freeloader over the road but it's no big issue. Cat loves the freedom to come and go.
  5. it sent our cat loopy about 11:30 p.m, it was bad enough trying to sleep through the wind howling without the cat doing the tunnel of death round the walls.
  6. It's going to cause a fatality at some point, I have no doubts at all. I wont let the O/H go that way now, IT IS immpossible to tell if it's safe to pull out of the junction when the 120 is sat there. I may email stagecoach too, Theres not only that, the drivers are really gunning it up hallam grange and it's a nightmare walking the kids to school.
  7. it's the 40, or you can get the 120 (same route)
  8. I have just collected my dress from having alterations made to it and it looks fantastic I used The Bridal House on eccleshall Rd, can't fault the service.
  9. I saw those, they were allover last week. Huntersbar all the way up to Nethergreen(every lampost) and they were all over Hallam school. Someone told me they were also allover Crosspool. Someone has been very busy.
  10. I got some slabs and put loads of woodchip over them, works a treat. Also as previously suggested make lots of above floor features for them to jump on. Theres no easy solution this time of year with the mud, but the slabs and woodchip seemed to work for us.
  11. well we went in to pay theother day and the lady in the register office said if the car is trimmed up with ribbon it's o.k to leave it unattended.
  12. BRS on leppings lane, brilliant staff. we have had a couple of gas fires from them, they do electric as well. they are right at the bottom near the petrol station
  13. Childrens birthday partys at the stables, children get a lesson or a hack out on the ponys. Edit to add, they do partys at the yard I go to from time to time and the kiddies allways seem to enjoy them
  14. We came past the arena in the car about half an hour ago and all the traffic lights went out. It was a nightmare because there was loads of traffic trying to get to the arena
  15. Can anyone who has recently married tell me about parking conditions outside the town hall. I read somewhere that cars parked have to have a driver sat in them at all times? We were thinking on driving down in our car, but if one of us has to be sat with the car outside we cant get married Should I look at booking a car, will I have to put child seats in a hired wedding car for the baby and 6 y.o, taking our own was so much more simple.
  16. I'm sorry to hear that, I'll never forget our first Hen death. It was one of our first rescue hen's, my sons favourite at the time, she used to play chase with him in the garden and she was a bit of a loony in general. We found her keeled over in the nest box after being a bit off colour the day before. Poor DS was heartbroken and it was a touching sight to see him take the spade from his dad and bury her himself with tears pouring down his cheeks. The problem is with hens is that they hide illness really well because of the other hens, if they get an inclin one is weak they will peck away at it.
  17. Well looking on the wesite of this group it seems they are eyeing up a grade 2 listed building off Northumberland road, an old spirtualist church. Where ever they do end up I hope they choose wisley this time and take over a building that actually is falling into disrepair. Taking over buildings owned by the health service as another poster pointed out is a bit like stealing from your own granny, and I think thats what got so many people so revved up about this.
  18. I can vouch for the carnage the fox leaves behind, we had one in our coop a few weeks ago, just rip off the heads and leave the poor things scatterd round the garden.
  19. I am not a big fan of the fox being a chicken owner, but I also think chasing an animal to the point of exaustion and ripping it apart is cruel and heartless. I ride on a regular basis and am aware that hunt meetings take place, but the ones I have known about have allways been on a scent trail basis for fun rather than actually chasing a real fox. What percentage of these hunts are actually hunting a real fox these days? just out of curiosity.
  20. Outstanding Post!!!! I for one would be quite willing to attend a protest, and I am sure I could gather a few other mums/parents whos children have recived treatment at SCH. Shame on you squatters draining the funds from the SCH an allready overstreached yet outstanding part of the N.H.S. Edit to add.. I have no ill feelings towards squatters in general, but camping out in a building that was going to be put to such good use and then refusing to move on and refusing to accept the fact they are draining funds earmarked for treating children is just dispicable behaviour.
  21. Prehaps we should hold our own 'peacefull protest' outside this building.. show the squatters how we all feel
  22. Sorry, the N.H.S foundation trust that incorperates the childrens hospital It's a little long winded to type in every post......
  23. I've been thinking about this, if there are plans to demolish the buildings for a car park, personally I feel this is a far better use (giving staff more ease to park for shifts, patients more space to take children for treatment) than your current use with workshops for hunt sabs and benefit fiddling classes.
