  1. It's usually due to fear of persecution in their home country, such as Christians in Pakistan who do actually get treated quite badly. A lot of the claims based on religion are nonsense though.
  2. His claim to have converted to Christianity is most likely ******** and was just a way of abusing the asylum system too, just like the Liverpool hospital bomber. I've seen this sort of stuff loads of times during my time at the Home Office. You also get quite a few people who are granted asylum because they state they're gay, and as soon as they're given permission to stay they bring a wife over on a spouse visa. I've also seen loads of passports belonging to people who have been granted asylum, and in their passports are immigration stamps showing they regularly visit the country they are supposedly scared to return to. The system is a complete joke.
  3. Your club is embroiled in a racism scandal, has a complete madman for an owner, is about to be relegated to the third tier of English football for the 4th time in 20 years, and you see fit to call us a comedy club? Unbelievable.
  4. There's a Roma woman who sits outside Lidl just next to Heeley retail park too. I'm not sure if she's part of the same gang or not. She's either sat outside Lidl, or by the bridge over the river between Heeley swimming baths and Virgin gym.
  5. You'd probably have to pay for a copy of the marriage certificate. https://www.gov.uk/order-copy-birth-death-marriage-certificate
  6. Because the country is rife with petty bureaucracy, where more time is devoted to discussing issues and coming up with plans than actually cracking on with the task at hand. In my workplace we have meetings to discuss future meetings...
  7. I can't believe people are falling for this nonsense. It will never happen. It's just to soften people up to the the idea of chucking a load more money at Ukraine.
  8. It's a shame no sod will be able to see them. The weather forecast says constant cloud for about a week.
  9. So you've made a decision on it based on the fact you know a single person who uses cannabis? Ever thought this person could just have been a moron to begin with? Cannabis doesn't make you aggressive at all either in my experience.
  10. I preferred those lights that used to give everything a nice orange glow. The bright white ones we have now are crap. The birds are constantly chirping all through the night where I am, and I'm sure it's those white lights confusing them.
  11. I wouldn't hold your breath considering there's been a grand total of two convictions for female genital mutilation.
  12. "To a large extent it's circumstances beyond my control, and there's not a lot I can do about that". The cheek of it! I'd love to know how long it took for the next door neighbours to sell their house.
  13. It's still going on in Australia based on this news story from today. It's an absolute disgrace. https://www.msn.com/en-au/health/other/i-m-seven-months-pregnant-qld-nurse-fired-for-refusing-covid-jab/ar-AA1mEWpM Queensland nurse Ella Leach has been fired from her job for refusing the COVID-19 jab despite being seven months pregnant and the state lifting the vaccine mandate in September last year. “Nothing really prepares you for it,” Ms Leach told Sky News host Caleb Bond. You know it’s on the cards as long as the disciplinary committee process is happening. I’m seven months pregnant nearly – I should be focusing on the joys of becoming a first-time mum, but it’s overshadowed by this process." “There’s no sensible reason why they would continue this action, we know that our hospitals are screaming out for staff, we’re seeing ambulances ramped outside, people dying in ambulances, rural areas really suffering." “I don’t know why they bothered to drop the mandate if they were going to continue firing people – I’m one of at least 50 since September 25.”
  14. Casinos don't strike me as the sort of place that would willingly invite the authorities in for a snoop around. Although I'm no expert on casinos and money laundering.
  15. While it's slowing in the west and other developed nations, it's increasing rapidly in Africa and a few other places. In 2010 the population of Nigeria was 159 million. It's now 230 million. That's an increase of 71 million (more than the UK population) in less than 15 years.
  16. You could just go to a casino, convert £10k into chips, gamble a few hundred quid and then cash out £9,000+. No need to lose over 70% of what you start with.
  17. Barber shops, nail salons, car washes and quite a few takeaways are fronts for organised crime and money laundering. It's ridiculous how many barber shops there are at Woodseats. There's about 10 in the space of half a mile.
  18. Spot on. If we can cherry pick one example to try and claim Covid is so deadly, let's use this one too; "Europe's oldest person - a 116-year-old French nun - survives COVID-19" https://www.euronews.com/2021/02/10/europe-s-oldest-person-a-116-year-old-french-nun-survives-covid
  19. That's just because Doncaster is directly on the east coast main line. I'm not some luddite who is against progress. I just don't see it as a priority to slightly reduce the travel time to London when there are so many other routes that need upgrading first. Sheffield-Manchester for example. You can get to London in two hours yet it takes 55 minutes to get to Manchester which is only 40 miles away. I'm not sure why everyone is suddenly for this when everyone was against HS2. It's the same argument in terms of money would be better spent elsewhere instead of slightly reducing travel time to London. Would you not prefer quicker travel times to Leeds, Manchester and York etc instead of slightly reducing travel time to London?
  20. As you say, you can already get to London in 2 hours 5 minutes which is pretty decent. Is there really any need to try and improve on that when they will only be able to shave 10-15 minutes off the journey time?
  21. Racism is insulting someone based on their race. We don't even know what race we're talking about here. Saying you wouldn't want to live next door to an immigrant is xenophobic rather than racist.
  22. Who is it being racist against? Black immigrants from Jamaica and Nigeria? White immigrants from Poland and Romania? Brown immigrants from India and Pakistan?
  23. Google is a different spelling of googol which means a large number. I assume Twitter is something to do with the twittering of birds considering it used to have a bird in the logo. Even that's been renamed to X that makes no sense, which brings us back to my original point 😂.
  24. What the hell does Veezu even mean anyway? There seems to be a growing number of companies and phone apps with bland names that don't even mean anything.
