  1. It annoys me how the big clubs moan about fixture congestion when they always go abroad to play pointless friendlies.
  2. Because slaughtering an animal the halal way involves slicing its neck open and letting it bleed to death. If an animal is going to die for me to eat it, I'd rather it be killed instantly with a bolt to the head. Most likely. I do my best to avoid it though.
  3. Speak for yourself. I don't want to eat halal meat because I don't agree with how the animal is killed. I wouldn't want my children eating it either.
  4. Wasn't there talk recently of building a new arena where the bus station is at Pond Street and moving the snooker there?
  5. https://nationalpost.com/news/world/israel-middle-east/warning-graphic-content-hamas-terrorist-attack-israel https://nypost.com/2023/11/01/news/head-of-israels-ems-service-describes-horror-of-seeing-babies-slaughtered-by-hamas/
  6. Yeah, it's bad. But what Iran has been funding Hamas to do is also bad and arguably worse. Once you start putting babies in ovens then you lose the moral high ground in my opinion. Also, why is so much Muslim outrage aimed at Israel, yet we never hear a peep about China? Uyghur Muslims are being shipped off on trains to have their organs harvested and then disappear. Could it be because the Chinese aren't Jewish by any chance...
  7. Well no, but that's kind of my point. It was made to sound like Iran is totally innocent and has been attacked out of nowhere. If you fund terrorist organisations to go and rape and mutilate women and children, then you can't start crying when it comes full circle. If you play with fire you get burnt.
  8. It depends on the circumstances. Terrorism is carrying out violence to pursue a particular agenda or push a certain cause, such as Islamism, neo-nazism or left wing anarchism. If this was just some unhinged mentally ill person then it wouldn't be classed as terrorism. I see the scumbag mostly attacked women too. What a coward. Rest in peace to the victims.
  9. It's a bit rich saying Iran should be able to defend itself. Israel wouldn't be retaliating if Iran hadn't kicked it off by massively funding Hamas and other groups who are targeting Israel.
  10. Is this from a certain date? I'm currently claiming JSA while I look for a new job and I don't get any UC.
  11. Yet another serial offender who is allowed to roam the streets and commit further offences. "Judge Reeds jailed Garbutt for 12 years, and made him the subject of a sexual harm prevention order, which will remain in place until further order of the court."
  12. Good riddance. The TV series called The People Versus OJ Simpson is pretty good though. I'd recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.
  13. We barely spend that much relative to others and we've still ended up in this situation. What a sorry state of affairs.
  14. Sounds a good idea. I'll check it out once it opens as it's only a five minute walk from me. The area along Little London Road seems to be turning into a sports/activity hub too. There's The Climbing Works, Play Arena for the kids, Laces boxing gym, a new gymnastics centre and now this football thing. The area needs it though, as it's been neglected for a while with lots of empty old buildings.
  15. Whirlow doesn't have a building but the rest I mentioned do. Plus there will be the new facility at Meadowhead to come too most likely. Either way, it's not United's responsibility to look after these kids. They will just have to slot in somewhere else.
  16. 99% of which come from Africa and the Philippines and not Europe.
  17. Whirlow playing fields, Castle Dyke, Graves Park, Graves Sports Centre at Norton. Plenty of places for grassroots teams to train/play within a mile or two of the HSBC site.
  18. I'd guess something ridiculous like opium.
  19. Plus we do our bit anyway through coaching programmes in schools etc. Sorry for my awful spelling in that previous post too 😂
  20. Why are they our responsibility? A lot of tbe better kids will probably end up in our academy anyway. Plus, by the time we've built the site the new sports centre at Meadowhead will be finished too, so it's mot like the local area is losing a sports facility.
  21. The new site is already costing us about £6m Irene. I dooubt we have the finances to build another site on top of that. We need to keep the Shirecliffe site. The reason we are buying a new site is because we want to upgrade our youth academy to category 1 status. For this you need about 8 pitches (plus other things) for use solely by the academy teams. That's why the youth academy is staying at Shirecliffe and the first team is moving to Dore.
  22. Why do you keep posting loads of nonsense suggestions? And why do they always involve old people being useless?
  23. They just wouldn't bother though. It's easier and cheaper to pick a different site which is a piece of flat tarmac already. They'd face all sorts of local protest at the idea of them digging up Graves Park to build a drive through. It's not worth the hassle.
  24. Did she take you to the cleaners? There are quite a few people/things I have a real hatred for. It's probably best I don't go into detail on here though.
  25. It's an absolute nonsense suggestion quite frankly. Plus McDonald's wouldn't even want the site anyway because it couldn't have a drive through.
