  1. Why don't cyclists have an mot for riding on roads? You'd think there would be a minimum road safety requirement if they are going to use the roads 1. Lights 2. Reflective gear/accessories 3. Helmet. There is another thread going at the moment where a cyclist has been cautioned by police for running a red light, so it seems the cops are being pro active towards road users who need to brush up on the highway code.
  2. I think this conversation is on page 2. This has already been pointed out by someone, and as the op responded, it is helpfully directed towards people who may not have a lot of experience driving in snow. If you think it is condescending, then it isn't directed at you. If you have some helpful tips, please share them because I, for one, appreciate any advice from more experienced drivers. I'm from a hot country and can happily drive on sand in a 4x4, but snow is a (relatively) new experience for me
  3. Thank you for posting this. It may be common sense for someone, but I come from a hot country and don't have a lot of experience driving in the snow. Advice from people with experience is always appreciated. Btw, I've popped a shovel, some salt and some newspapers in my boot in case of emergencies.
  4. I know there are dozens of places to get tattoo in and around sheffield, but where is the best for coverup? I have a small black snake on my ankle and I want to get it covered with something with lots of colour. There are a few things I have been wanting for a while. But I'd discuss designs with the artist. If anyone can recommend a place that does good coverups and good with colours please provide the website link.
  5. I was at the hospital when the young men were brought in. As more and more family members arrived to visit, I heard them tell staff that they were the cousin, or the uncle. They let the father, girlfriend and 2 brothers through. My message is an RIP to a lad I never knew and also to remind the people reading this thread that he was a brother, a cousin, a son, a nephew and a boyfriend.
  6. I don't know who you are, what you looked like or anything about you. I only know you were brought into the hospital via ambulance when I was there. I do know something that you will never know. You had about 20-30 family members and friends gathered in the waiting room. RIP brother/boyfriend/nephew/cousin/son. You were obviously loved.
  7. RIP Joe Cocker. My mum loved the guy and today would have been her birthday. Hopefully, they have ended up in the same place.
  8. I know some dachshund owners in Sheffield. If you can send me a pic of the doggie, I may recognise it, or maybe recognise who it was bred by.??
  9. The Angel Tavern in Holmesfield Avid Farm and Cafe in Millhouse Green (S36) And Nonna's on Eccy Road.
  10. I get really excited, so my dogs see it as a good thing. Tilly will bounce around and scratch at the door so we can go out and watch them together. Dancer comes out too and tries to be excited, but she bounces around with her ears back and tail between her legs.
  11. That horrid little &$*%head, Justin bloody Beiber. His face just makes me angry! I'd love to slap his face With a fish That is filled with bricks.
  12. I need you to tell my doctor that, please. I'm fat because I drink so much......but I'm fat, so I'm not an alcoholic.
  13. Sainsburys are selling them at the moment. Maybe not the one in town, but the bigger ones.
  14. My cousin has it. He has it for real. First name is Edward. Surname is Bowler. I think he is going to die.
  15. Dronfield. It is quiet, friendly and is very sociable. Lots of socially active oldies around, so they'd be able to meet new people. Good houses with garages galore. Houses go very quickly though.
  16. I'd ask them to swap places so the wind would be blowing the smoke away from you.
  17. I loved the 'vibrancy' of town last night We headed home about 11 pm and had to negotiate an obstacle course of vomit and broken bottles.
  18. I'm on BMD. You message people on site and arrange to meet them. The site recommends getting to know potential borrowers before leaving your dog with them. I've met some great people from the site I'd recommend it.
  19. I'll drop in during the week. I have some flat packed furniture still in boxes you can have. There is a bedside and a 4 drawer chest. But they don't match.
  20. Another vote from me for the Milestone. Perfect for a lazy brunch when you are in no hurry. Call ahead to book, it is pretty popular.
  21. Not sure about the country/folk thing, but Junkyard Dog and Free Empire are both great cover bands. If it is year away, maybe you could request they do a few of your brothers favorites?
  22. Log into Borrow My Doggie. There are people who want doggie loving, but can't have a dog of their own full time.
