  1. Hi. I've got about 10 metres of guttering that needs cleaning (S2 City Rd). Can anyone PM if they can do it. Dan's fully booked. Cheers in advance.
  2. Hi, Yes it's Nicky from the Rain shop x Thankyou for your PM foxyflugel - I tried to reply but your message box is too full. Thanks for the info. I'll give him a try xx
  3. Thanks Poppy x SYAR just said they're too full. We've explained that it just needs a day or two in an aviary before a release with it's own kind, but they won't budge. Our garden is full of pigeons, but we're on a corner of 2 main roads, and it just doesn't seem to 'get' what it's supposed to do! We've looked after a few injured or orphaned birds, but not from such an early age. We have a house bound Collared Dove here, that we've had for 4 years. It can't fly, and it's completely human imprinted, so it can't learn much from that either!
  4. I'm hoping someone may be able to help. Someone brought us a baby injured Wood Pigeon a couple of weeks ago. It had fallen out of a nest, and was being attacked by Magpies. It had a couple of superficial injuries, which have been treated. SYAR wouldn't help, so we had to look after it ourselves. It was too young to feed itself, so my OH has been hand rearing it, although we've kept our distance and treid not to let it become human imprinted. It needs to be released soon, and we've put it out in our small aviary in the day time, but it just sits on the floor. We've tried SYAR several times, just to ask if they were going to be releasing any pigeons soon. All we wanted was for it to spend a couple of days with it's own kind before it's released. They won't help. We've done the hard work - it's feeding itself, it can fly, and it seems healthy - but it doesn't seem to know what to do! Do any of you have any rescue pigeons / Woody's that need releasing soon? Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance - Nicky
  5. Great news! Baz has been found safe and well. He's at the council pound tonight. He was found tied up in a park at 7.30am by a member of the public. Thankyou to EVERYONE for sharing & caring x
  6. We have them in our garden most nights. S2 City Road. I think they're hoovering up the mealworms that escape the bird table
  7. I've sent you a message. Could you get back to me ASAP please. Long shot, but it might be Baz x
  8. The photo was taken in March 2012, and uploaded to Facebook. I've just re-shared it today from the original album, which is why it's causing confusion. I've just added the date he went missing to the description, to make things a bit clearer. We fostered him last year, and he went to live with a friend of ours.
  9. He is such a sweetie. I just hope they haven't hurt him. Thanks for sharing x I'll keep you updated if there's any news. ---------- Post added 26-08-2013 at 14:27 ---------- That's when the photo was originally uploaded to Facebook. I've just shared it again today, with the missing notice.

  11. Missing - Tiny old Brindle Staffy in Walkley area. Friend was burgled and has lost everything. Just wants his dog back Please keep your eyes open. Very friendly old dog.
  12. There's EVERY comparison. I'm not talking about the dogs - I'm referring to the humans in the equation. By their very nature, rescue dogs don't usually come with much of a history. Why take on a male Rotty, when you have un-neutered entire male dogs in the house, and expect there to be no problems? Seems very short sighted to me. And expecting a working guard dog to double as a pet? What happens if they don't get on? Do you just put another one to sleep? If you put a dog in a stressful position, and it attacks - Is that the dogs fault? Or the humans? This may be why the breeder has blocked you. People have longer memories than you think.
  13. It's not going to stay 8 weeks old though is it? If I remember correctly - You had a Rottweiler put to sleep recently because it didn't get on with your Staffy. ????
