  1. Like my signature says ' Bring back the Grovsener Hotel ' vote now for Crooked spire! Seriously nice bit of poetary.
  2. Specials ' Ghost Town ' has become my favourite song of the moment. It should be the new national anthem for the UK.
  3. Scotland vote for independence that be the day May got nothing to worry about.
  4. I didn't see the show but sounds less than appearing we pay for entertainment we don't want politics dragged into it it just kills it.
  5. I think we need hi tech industry not traditional industries it will not work in the 21st century. A scheme could be put together that gives a young person a chance of employment together with accommodation plus generates money for the economy both local and national level we have got to do something otherwise what chance have the next generation got?
  6. Simple answer is we need to rebuild our industry so that the next generation have a chance of a life it would solve a lot of problems. Yes I've met many homeless people some ex servicemen others abandoned by the care system and everything in between theirs no one shoe fits all answer but we shouldn't throw the towel in and carry on with the ' blame culture' we now have .
  7. I've long given up on our political elite should we support our MPs no .
  8. If only it works likes this have you ever spoken to a homeless person ?
  9. What if their is no parents to live with? ---------- Post added 04-03-2017 at 18:23 ---------- That was in 2014 things have moved on a bit plus no address no benefits only hope is the local food bank and a donated tent super.
  10. I don't think theirs anything left the Bradway Hotel got flattened for a supermarket.
  11. Looks like anyone aged 18-21 who leaves the care system got nothing more than to look forward too than living in a doorway thanks to thurder boots May . From April 2017 Housing Benefit will be stopped for 18-21 year olds full stop watch while homeless raises yet again.
  12. Why not leave clocks forward permanent was it not tryed out once ?
  13. Many years ago when I was in my early 20s I went out one Saturday night it was in the summer months. Been to my usual haunts in town then went to a nightclub at this time clubs used to close at 1pm unlike now. I left the club and made my way home which was two miles away was about halfway and passing though a small hamlet walking along the main road. I wasn't drunk might have been on way a bit but still aware of my surroundings then a black car stopped and the door opened the car wasn't well lit inside but could make out a outline of a man who shouted at me to get into his car I declined and started to walk a bit faster but I noticed the car was following me slowly he caught up with me he opened the door again nearly hitting me with it he spoke again I didn't answer kept walking . Then I entered the area were I lived I saw the car spin round and left at speed. When I think back and what you read in the media I think my guardian angel was watching me that night. Have you had a experience in the past that now on reflection you think you had a narrow escape with ?
  14. Yes they are not bad also ' Unknown Cameraman' is good too but hasn't done anything new lately.
  15. Theirs a common theme here with the media when the Cameron and Co decided to dismantle the Welfare state and make it harder to get any benefits the disabled were portrayed as putting it on getting easy free hand outs ( Daily Mail love that term I note) anyone who has had experience knows even under the old system it was far from easy. Next unemployed people were hit with Bedroom Tax and then sanctions that do lead to homeless hitting young people the hardest . People on benefits made to pay Council Tax how the hell can they pay that on JSA? But it shows how far removed Cameron was from reality May is no better. All the while the right wing media lapped it up and some even fell for it believing every word to be ture attacks on disabled increased and other hate crime too. It concerns me a lot were this country is heading it really does I've got visions of it ending up been a far right fairyland the masses controlled by what they read than using their own judgement. Corbyn is not perfect by any means but would vote for him given the choice we have at present.
  16. This is Dan Bell is a channel on YouTube it's a mix of short films and Urban Exploring and has now a new series about dirty motel rooms. Dan Bell ( 40 ) is from Baltimore , Maryland he co - producers with Will Kimprusky and Rick Serra along with Jim a former Baltimore cop. Recently he was nominated by ' Baltimore Sun " newspaper for best YouTube channel and Instagram. Notable series are ' Dead Malls' showing either abandoned malls or malls that are in decline ' Rolling Acre's Mall was a good one. Urbex, various locations around Baltimore and filmed in some rough areas of the city and has had some hair raising encounters with drug dealers and alike. Also done road trips to neighbouring states to derelict sites. ' Dead Motels' a series visiting derelict motels which like Malls are slowly disappearing. ' Dirty Motel rooms'. Visiting with Rick Serra and Will to see how clean the rooms are mostly bottom end ones it's amazing to see how bad some motels are in fact they have found anything from used needles to a bird's nest. The quality of the videos is very high when I first saw them I thought someone had downloaded them from the TV but they are not . ' Exploring with Josh ' is good but Dan Bell is better. Anyone else watch this channel ?
  17. I prefer herbal teas to ordinary teas plus they can be beneficial to health. Fennel tea, good for stomach upsets and for women reduces period pain. Green tea, helps to detox the liver and gallbladder . Ginger tea, anti sick and upset stomachs. Dandolion tea, good for the liver. Any teas with honey is anti bacterial.
  18. A bit off topic, the area where I live has seen a sharp decline over the last five years more visible homeless and more empty shops than before the town had quite a bit of industry now all gone. Nothing has rep!aced these jobs the town has a high unemployment rate complete with a crime rate to match. I don't think my area will ever recover to be honest its heartbreaking to see this . I may have said this before but government's love to play with numbers and try and make out this and that is fine but reality is so different all parties are guilty of this. I do worry that future generations lives will be just one of hardship and never enjoy what previous generations had glad I'm not eighteen now.
  19. I think people are wising up to pubco's it will not be so easy for them to find tenants willing to pay stupid rents and rip off beer barrel prices. I think we will see a year that could see record numbers of pubs closing for good.
  20. Read the online version of the ' Star ' today had a story about a bus been damaged by someone. The writer put the following : Number 83 bus has been damaged by a member of the public had to be taken out of service. Then they repeated the above three times I got the story first time clearly the Star thinks otherwise and feels the need to repeat it two more times just in case. Do they think their readership a bit on the slow side or something?
  21. On that little gem of a site ' Sheffield History ' their is a thread about ' Penthouse ' with personal memories and to top it all inside photos showing wall murals done by a local artist . The photos are in colour I think it said they were taken in 1969 I doubt they survive but who knows has anyone been in the building in recent times would be interesting to see what remains inside?
  22. Boy this is heavy reading. I don't drink anymore for health reasons but I won't go on and on like this its personal choice at the end of the day this heavy posting will not encourage people to debate it.
