  1. We've just had a quote from Betta Living( Next). The guy was extremely helpful, gave some good advice and not pushy at all. We were advised by Next that the guy, who happened to be the manager, would take about 3 hours. Thanks to my wife, he did take a little longer. Was not happy about the initial quote, but managed to negotiate a decent discount. Has anyone had a Betta kitchen installed?
  2. The estimate IS only an estimate. Unless you have a smartmeter, they do not know your actual reading unless either you post it on their site or BG call at your door to read they meter. Get yourself a smartmeter, at no cost to you, and you should have no problems in future.
  3. Driving should be restricted to those over 90, provided they can pass the eye test. There would then be far less traffic on the roads, bus journeys would be far quicker and cycling would be far safer.
  4. Any company should be able to install a SmartMeter, free of charge.
  5. One can only have 1 pinned post, unfortunately...
  6. Had thought of that one but that may not make sense if it's not relevant to the Pinned Post. The User's Page has an About box, in which a map can be added, but it's not there on a Group Page.
  7. Having now "mastered FB2" lol, I want to add a map to a Facebook Group Description. I am an Admin. The Group Description area only seems to allow texts, you can't add anything such as a picture or URL. Has anyone had a similar problem and found a solution?
  8. I also have a couple of Outlook problems. Working fine last week with W8 Can't get it working properly with W10. Unable to specify a POP3 server for one of my email accounts so having to use IMAP It's also downloading mail from one of my Inbox sub-folders, which it's never done before. It's also leaving copies of email on the server, which I don't want.
  9. Last year we paid approx £60p/m for water. Had a meter installed beginning of year and we then paid approx £30 p/m. However, this month we have paid £150. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
  10. Rooms are usually about 8 ft. So, 2 floors + loft makes 24 ft so 30 ft or 10 mtrs sounds good.
  11. Maybe so but not in this case, they've been offered an extra £2000 and they're still not happy. OK. Give then an extra £5000; let TFL increase fares by 10% and everyone's happy... lol
  12. This is a simple website I set up a couple of years ago and has since grown. New features have been added and, naturally enough, quite a lot of new content as material is being added or updated on a regular basis. Any comments, good or bad, would be appreciated. www.didim.me ---------- Post added 19-07-2015 at 10:14 ---------- Any feedback please?
  13. Has anyone used the free Tiny Take for recording online videos?
  14. Being with a housing association does not necessarily imply you're a good tenant.
  15. Fair wear and tear is stated in all mine Anyway if the LL is using the TDS, as he should be, then the T should get the deposit registration details form the LL and then contact the TDS.
  16. Should have posted that today. April 1st!
  17. Hand it in to the travel centre at Arundel Gate, next to the Crucible theatre in town. Thanks for your honesty.
  18. Without seeing either the tenancy agreement nor state of the place it's difficult to comment. Does the agreement mention anything about fair wear and tear? Can you explain how the walls and doors got marked? Please don't take this the wrong way but some tenants, be it a few, have no care about their current property. Most tenants are usually first class. A property I own was recently vacated by a bad tenant and cost me £2000 in repairs. It had been refurbished prior to him moving in. I don't think £50 is unreasonable.
  19. Ha ha, they're too busy, supposedly, either speeding or looking at the traffic. If the gym is any good, they should have tinted windows.
  20. Will your food defrost if you turn your router off? I don't think anyone is concerned whether you save any money, or how much, by turning your router off. There are, and always will be, discussions on whether you should turn off AND unplug any electrical device not being used. Many moons ago, this used to be common advice, as some electrical appliances could overheat and possibly catch fire. Whether it's a good idea to let appliances a chance to cool down, to increase their longevity, then who knows! Although each individual household would not save much, the overall savings globally could be quite significant. I must admit, I don't turn mine off overnight.
  21. Has anyone been to Carsington Water recently? Any good bird sightings?
