  1. Not sure I understand what you are saying. Don't know who's responsible for your salary however is HR not within the school or is it elsewhere? Normally, HR would supply contract. Anyway, if you've been paid more than expected then you must be doing a good job! Maybe they're in need of some Business Management.
  2. Is it just your school or is it at schools in general? Can the board of governors be of any assistance? I don't expect you to name the school but are you free to state what type of school it is?
  3. Surely you should have gotten a written contract! Did you not discuss your salary? Without the contract then I'm not sure what you can do. Doubt if they can adjust your pay if they've given you nothing in writing. Strongly recommend getting a written contact ASAP.
  4. There's a car park at the gambling casino in Duchess Road, Queen St, for £3 a day. You can even pop in and have a gamble.
  5. I'm guessing that 50 years ago, when there were a small no of cars, there was no need to put notices up or paint yellow lines. More and more people have cars, and quite a few seem to have no consideration for other road users, including pedestrians. One neighbour, who has 3 cars, state that they have to park there as they need the cars to get to work. We do have a reasonably good bus service literally a stone's throw away. Maybe I should consult our extremely helpful SCC?
  6. It would not be muddy if people did not park on the grass verge, but that's a completely separate topic.
  7. I should have clarified that there are no signs or lines. It just makes me wonder why the steps were placed there, probably many years ago.
  8. Our pavement is about 2-3 ft below street level and some of use have steps should we need them, such as carrying heavy items, or for the benefit of those disabled, see pic. Whilst it makes common sense to keep access to these steps clear, is there any legal reason why they should be? http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/dehiworld/media/2015/parking/steps_zpsn09qdag5.jpg.html]
  9. Slightly OT however, does anyone know the gym at or near Meadowhead who does 1-to-1 running in Graves Park?
  10. Can anyone advise me how I can find out if there are any underground streams in the Gleadless area? I know some members have damp problems associated with them however, I'm in a fairly high location and, apart from a pond in the garden, have no problems.
  11. These PPI callers are a pain in the ****. Only got one yesterday from an outfit in San Antonio, in the US of A. Next one might be from Mars?
  12. If it's only 2 months old, is it not covered by guarantee?
  13. I did that earlier this year. From Oughtibridge to Doncaster - but not in one day though! Quite a few nice shots on the way.
  14. A couple I took at Wyming Brook this morning
  15. Thanks Nick, I'll try that one. Looks great. ---------- Post added 03-12-2014 at 09:26 ---------- Did you mean this one?
  16. I'm looking for some locations where I can take some good shots involving water. I know the river don at Oughtibridge is one of my favourites, especially when the river is full. I've also taken some decent shots at both Rother Valley and Graves Park. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  17. Lovely. Needed to install WSE and then it worked fine - so far. At least it started so "so far so good". Thanks a lot.
  18. I'm having a problem with 2 programs as they are crashing due to a problem with Windows. One, Daminion, runs OK but occasionally crashes. However it's more of a nuisance than anything else. I run this quite frequently. The other, Family Tree Maker, falls over on startup, so is unusable. I only run this on the odd occasion and suspect I had the problem after a Windows update a few weeks ago. Avanquest were of no assistance in resolving the problem - even informing me to contact ancestry.com - who told me to contact Avanquest! The error message is meaningless, as it only indicates a problem with Windows. Nothing to indicate where the problem lies. "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available!" Is there a log file where error information can be extracted?
  19. I've just started using raw and Photoshop. I think GIMP handles raw images and it's FREE! As a general rule. If you are updating anything - not necessarily a photo, ensure you have a backup of it in case you screw anything up. It happens to everyone once in a blue moon no matter how careful they are.
  20. I'm currently redesigning a dog site based in Turkey and they are doing a lot of their work free of charge. This is what I have produced so far, and would appreciate any comments. Most of the contents were from the original site. http://www.didim.me/dogs
