  1. It could be that the driver has finished his shift and his replacement has not turned up. He, the driver may be unaware that there's a problem with his relief, so he cant be blamed for not continuing the journey.
  2. It's worth checking out the Travel South Yorkshire website. Lots of useful information.
  3. Not sure where the OP means. There is a stop in Heeley Bank Road, near Olive Grove, and there's another stop by KFC, in Charlotte Road. KFC is on Queens Road, so I'm not clear what the problem is.
  4. I'm an amateur photographer and looking for recommendations for a new laptop as I'm having problems with my primary HD as it's running out of space as it's only 50 GB. I can't replace it. The vast majority of my data is on my 2nd HD, which is 1 Tb so have no problems there. Ideally should have memory of 16 GB and a quad processor. I've using Windows 10 but not sure if I should swap to Unix as I have a lot of PC software. Are Gaming pcs of any use as these the only ones I can see with a quick search?
  5. That's fine if you can find his name. if it were John Smith, purely for example, there may be many of them on there. I tried looking for mine, and found he was in N Carolina prison, for what I don't know. If you can't find him, then who knows! It's of no compensation if you have to take him to court, as he may have no assets and your property may be in a mess and clearly you're out of pocket. It's identifying the good and the bad guys before work starts. I mistakenly assumed that going through an agency, such as mybuilder, would protect me. That was, unfortunately, a false assumption.
  6. I know. I had one a few years ago to pebble dash the house. (see post #10) Got him through the mybuilder site, which I would not recommend. I think he ended up doing time, not through me. His son recently contacted me and asked me to remove my adverse comments re his father, as he could not get any work due to my review. Eventually got mybuilder to have words with him. Have heard no more since. Although there's many excellent builders out there, it's these cowboys who ruin it for many others. I'm really not sure how one can ignore these cowboys.

  8. This may sound like a strange request but I have had a request from one of my FB group members to add a person who was previously blocked, for some reason or another. This person was recently convicted of embezzling a significant sum of money from company funds - not in this area. I should state that no financial transactions are partaken within this group. What are your views of allowing this person to join?
  9. Got a call recently from someone purported to be the Inland Revenue, in Chester. They stated that I was due for a tax rebate, although that did not make sense as IR usually pay direct to one's bank account or send a cheque. As I have a hearing problem, I could not clearly hear what she had to say, so I told her to either email me or send a cheque. Needless to say, I did not give her any personal information as she should have it on file already. Still not clear of the purpose of the call.
  10. Have tried everywhere. Looks like Google have give it the big E so no longer possible. Had a quick look at Here Maps but their road names are incorrect.
  11. There are so so many issues that you need to consider before investing in any outlet. Clearly opening within the city centre will be expensive but you're more likely to get more clientele. Are you going to be multi-cultural or just simply main english - nowt wrong with that. Are you gonna be an up-market place or a corner cafe? What's going to be your operating hours? Just a few of many items to consider. Have you considered a franchise? May be cheaper to start up. Another KFC or bigmac??
  12. Thanks for the response but I've tried that. The Traffic button has been removed. Can you try it and see if it works?
  13. Does anyone know how to turn off Labels in Google Maps? It seems for some unearthly reason they removed this option a couple of years ago and the only way around it was to revert to Google Classic. Now it seems that you can't revert to the Classic version. Searched various forums without any joy.
  14. I use it when it fits. On the odd occasion, it's simpler to use than a DB. Sometimes a simple text file will suffice.
  15. The one for updating the website, not the administrator, would usually have no need to know what tool he is using to input information. Spreadsheets may be easier to use for inputting numerical information, such as timetables. Simply using the best tools for the job.
  16. Whatever method is easier for the user. Behind the scenes a DB would be used but a spreadsheet may be simpler for timetables. The user would simply be entering information, not necessarily knowing what tools are being used.
  17. That's happened to me, several times with First. Not clear who is responsible for showing the bus & tram times but I suspect it's Travel South Yorkshire. Not too bad if they run every 10 mins, but bad if they're only every 30 mins, or longer. Of course, the bus could break down 2 mins before due arrival. On the whole, most of them seem to be pretty reliable. ---------- Post added 07-03-2016 at 08:34 ---------- Were the site properly designed, there is no need for a web agency to update timetables, It's called a CMS system. One would simply update an excel spreadsheet, or similar, for each bus route.
  18. Thanks Rudds. They should be similar. Just after a ball park figure.
  19. If you're having a granite worktop then it doesn't seem bad. Are you having new appliances or are they re-fitting your existing ones? Are they taking old units away?
  20. Can anyone inform me the price of both gas & elec safety inspections? I am only interested in prices as I've been given a price of £110 for each which I think is a tad expensive. Please don't PM me with job offers.
  21. LOL No idea how they sync with the buses or trams however they're not 100% reliable. Some show the TOD the bus is due, whereas, if it's due very shortly, it shows how many minutes before arrival. The live boards even show ETA even after the bus is cancelled, for some reason or another.
  22. You may incur costs on your landline if you're diverting to a mobile. Best check your contract.
