Having amassed some wealth during his football career, he proceeded to buy the majority of shares in the club-making him the new owner- then firing the old owners, and re-installing himself back in the first team as player/coach. You're right about that. I was reading somewhere the other day that Jose Marinho has received nearly 100 million (Euros or Pounds) over the years in severance pay. That's not counting regular pay. to think that when he was at Chelsea and Man.Utd. he was on 10 million a year.

Miriam Karlin's role in "The Rag Trade' was forewoman Paddy Fleming- an unusual role name for a London born Jewish lady but Miriam could play anyone and supported (in the initial episodes) with Peter Jones , Esma Cannon (the older lady) and Reg Varney.
