Photo from late 1962 I reckon, just before Tony Kay left for Evertpn.

Yes and one of my favourite Owl's players.
-
Although he started as an Owl's junior, I think Colin (RIP) was born in the Middlesbrough area.
-
Yes, he then moved to Bristol Rovers where Don Megson was player/coach. RIP Colin.

Any one ,who's old enough), ever attend FA Youth Cup games -1957/58- at the Lane or Hillsborough ? I went to two cracking games at S6, Owls v Chelsea and West Ham. I can't recall any of the Owl's juniors making to the senior team but the two London sides had a few that made it to their first team.

And some lines from an old Hollies' song to boot.
-
Like Cher, I think she had Native American blood, Cherokee perhaps ?
-
Yes, Greasy Vera's was at the Swinton Street/Chatham Street junction , near the Mowbray Street end of Pitsmoor.
-
Anyone think Bolton are a threat ? Ten gpa;s in two games ain't bad.
-
In the 1960s. so called Liverpool 'comedian' Jimmy Tarbuck, used to drive in a Rolls-Royce (Rolls- Royce I ask you !), with number plates COM1C. To me , ,that man was about as funny as an Anal passage boil.
-
The last two league games-Plymouth and Ipswich- over 62,000 watching the Owls. OK they were lucrative games but how many outside the Premier can say that ?

What Was The Name Of This Old Sheffield Railway Station?
St Petre replied to Janus's topic in Sheffield History & Expats
They sort of blend into one in the southeast, for instance both Upwell Street and Newhall Road run from Grimesthorpe to Brightside. -
And the Next Football boss to be sacked/resign is ..
St Petre replied to The Manager's topic in General Sports Chat
Not much to do with Lampard getting fired but reminded me of a story from a few years ago: Former Italy international and A.C Milan player Gianni Rivera was fed up with being left out of team by new owners of A.C Milan who deemed he was no longer good enough. Having amassed some wealth during his football career, he proceeded to buy the majority of shares in the club-making him the new owner- then firing the old owners, and re-installing himself back in the first team as player/coach. Wonder if that could happen in U.K ? -

Don't think Frank will be too upset (perhaps pride). he's been a millionaire for a while, having homes In Surrey, London's Belgravia and own a pub in Chelsea. -

You're right about that. I was reading somewhere the other day that Jose Marinho has received nearly 100 million (Euros or Pounds) over the years in severance pay. That's not counting regular pay. to think that when he was at Chelsea and Man.Utd. he was on 10 million a year. -
It's cold for both teams Mr. B. (with respect to yourself).
-
Sheffield Wednesday players are not valued in Pounds, Euros or Dollars or any of that tradable crap.....Gold.. just pure gold ! (Well, except some from the mid-1970s).

Sheffield Laws Police Cannot Enforce
St Petre replied to bassett one's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Wasn't there laws Sheffield Council made ( 1950s- 60s) that fish could not be sold-either from a fishmonger or fish and chip shop on a Sunday ? So they did't open but Chinese take aways got around it . Another was cars could not be washed on a public highway on the Sabbath. of course the police do not make the laws, just to enforce them. Don't know about the 'Fish' rule but wonder if the 'Car wash was ever enforced ? -
Sheffield Wednesday V Cambridge United

Five nowt is five nowt ! Whether in World Cup or a school yard. Does any one think that Derby and Bolton ( those two don't lose many) may be up there later ? And Ipswich and Plymouth have to come to S6. I think Portsmouth (unless they wake up), have blown it and despite today, there's still Barnsley, -
Miriam Karlin's role in "The Rag Trade' was forewoman Paddy Fleming- an unusual role name for a London born Jewish lady but Miriam could play anyone and supported (in the initial episodes) with Peter Jones , Esma Cannon (the older lady) and Reg Varney.

Top three unchanged but Barnsley seem to be the form team of late, they could, on their present run likely to upset teams around them and whatever happened to Portsmouth.
