  4. St. Catherines was the Catholic church on Burngreave Road, St Catherines school was at Andover Street/Lopham Street until they re-located to Roe Woods in the 1970s.

Well, with respect crooksey, my Victorian Pitsmoor born grandmother WOULD have stepped into a Brightside and Carbrook shop, as most of B&C 's were in working class areas and priced accordingly, not like the other lot. Also, which Co_Op food is the article about, the one at Castle Street and Angel Street? Which i thought was gone anyway.
  12. I can only think of a few : David Herd (he of Manchester United and Arsenal), Alan Ball, Jimmy Greaves's son Danny made it-as a so-so mid-field player at Southend United Nigel Clough and Frank Lampard and Gary Megson, as well as Nigel Clough who was a very decent player at when at Liverpool.
