I know there's some good landlords out there but it's a shame we live in a society where you don't have security of tenancy and could face the upheaval of having to move on the whim or finances of somebody else, particularly if you have a young family.

Has anyone got a link where it says nursing wages will be cut 20%, am aware there's been tentative talk of regional pay but hadn't seen a figure yet and how it might affect me. I'm qualifying as a mental health nurse next year and there's already no jobs out there so starting to think I've made a mistake. If the wage is cut to 16k no way would I stay in nursing which would be a real shame, and a waste of the money spent on training me... but I earned more in office work before going into nursing so why would I work for so much less when you have so much stress and responsibility?

Always been busy when I've been on them, but why are they single decker instead of double? Then you could have a few less but maintain capacity and reduce congestion.

Where to watch the Manchester derby in Sheffield?
daniel3982 replied to Number Six's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Where's the best pubs in Sheffield that show football at 3pm on a Saturday (I'm a Sunderland supporter so not depriving the owls or blades of my custom!), in York there's loads of places that show the football on foreign channels, are there any in Sheffield? -
New student accomodation plans
daniel3982 replied to EllieHubert's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
I think it's good for students to be in purpose built developments like this so that family homes can be for families rather than split up to HMOs. -
His kicking is atrocious if the game on Saturday is anything to go by mind!

Selling a house and capital gains tax
daniel3982 replied to Classic Rock's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
Or consult your local MP, they had lots of experience of flipping their second homes and avoiding capital gains tax, the best thing of all is they were doing it with "expenses" that we paid them! -

A Turkish fella just posted on another thread looking for mates with his facebook, somewhere in this section I think. -
Harley Live present Slow Club at Queens Social Club - 13.04.12
daniel3982 replied to HarleyLive's topic in Evenings Out
Looks great, a bit like Brudenell social club in Leeds? Know where it is now so will get the tram back up to Division Street after the gig. What time do gigs at Queens' usually finish? -
Harley Live present Slow Club at Queens Social Club - 13.04.12
daniel3982 replied to HarleyLive's topic in Evenings Out
Thanks for this post, just bought tickets for myself & my lass. Not too familiar with Queens Social Club, can anyone recommend any places to drink nearby beforehand and possibly after? -
Best big mixed kebab in sheffield
daniel3982 replied to parsoncross's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Kebabish Express on London Road does a great mixed on naan for about £5.50 which is cheaper than a crappy donner on pitta up here in york. -
Anyone bought or live in S10? Student issues?
daniel3982 replied to Gambler's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
I live on the main thoroughfare between York city centre and York University and it drives me mad, there's only so many times you can be woken every 10 minutes between 1am and 4am by people singing and screaming outside on their way home from clubs before it starts to grate a bit! -
The Tramlines Festival 2012 Megathread
daniel3982 replied to Tramlines-'s topic in Going out in Sheffield
Really happy with the lineup so far, credible acts from different genres rather than just pandering to the popular mainstream pop idol rejects like so many free city based festivals. That lineup wouldn't be out of place at a cool little boutique festival that charges £100+. Tramlines 2011 was brilliant but this year promises to be even better! -

What is Gleadless Valley area like please?
daniel3982 replied to poppypoppy's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
At least the views in Gleadless are nice. I think as lots of things it depends on your neighbours. -

Railway track at Oughtibridge
daniel3982 replied to greenrat's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Should be a tram train like they doing to Rotherham, tram and trains can both run on the same guage tracks so would allow the freight to run to the steel works but also tram-trains to run from Sheffield upto Penistone and Stocksbridge. -
Sheffield Vs Edinburgh with Bus Services
daniel3982 replied to mediman's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Aye cause it's all still owned by the council the way it used to be in England (only London and I think Nottingham are these days). Glasgow on the other hand is a mess of First and Stagecoach like Sheffield. You think it's bad though you should live in York, the bus service here is a massive rip-off and terrible compared to Sheffield. -
Cool bars to take my brother tonight in Sheffield
daniel3982 replied to Mosey's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Anywhere up Division Street, I like the Old House, Green Room and Great Gatsby. -
Goverment reform bill effect on council housing
daniel3982 replied to robbert69's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
Ah nice to see xenophobia is alive and well on the Sheffield forum... Funny how it's usually always the semi-illiterate posters (who blame everyone else for their situations) who seem to resort to it!
