  1. Well if you have the guts, watch the next games in a couple of weeks time, Paralympic Games start soon, maybe watching these games it might bring a tear to your eyes, every competitor in these games should receive a Gold Medal for their effort that they give, sadly the BBC do not give as much coverage to these games as they should.
  2. B&Q @ Darnall had some turf on offer @ half price last week, very reasonable.
  3. Just been through this myself with a computer system, bought at £700 2 years ago. Touch screen stopped working returned it to the shop and quoted the two year european ruling, they sent it for repair on the Friday and came back to me after the weekend and said it could'nt be repaired, they replaced it with a brand new machine same make and spec and refunded the difference. All in all very easy to do if you take the time and no trouble at all.
  4. Irespective of what the seller has told you, under european law he is responsable for repairs for upto 5 years from date of purchase of the item. Contact consumer direct and they will give you all the info you need
  5. Rotherham are cracking down on misuse of blue badges, been quite a few in court over it recently.
  6. In reference to your post (my bold), I once worked with an ex police woman and I once asked her a question about a certain officer who was a regular face in the tv police series within South Yorkshire. Her reply was that he was the biggest a**e hole in the force and that they all loved playing up to the tv cameras. And by the way there is also a speed camera sometimes set up in the evening after dark on Richmond Road at Handsworth, manned by a police officer in uniform.
  7. Penicillin ? was found way before this grandmother was born. Many of you are here only because penicillin saved your life, or the life of one of your parents or grandparents. Penicillin's ability to cure people of many once-fatal bacterial infections has saved so many lives that it is easy to understand why it was once called a "miracle drug". Antibiotics are chemicals, effective at very low concentrations, created as part of the life process of one organism, which can kill or stop the growth of a disease-causing microbe--a germ. In 1929, Alexander Fleming, a doctor and researcher at St. Mary's Hospital in London, England, published a paper on a chemical he called "penicillin", which he had isolated from from a mold, Penicillium notatum. Penicillin, Fleming wrote, had prevented the growth of a neighboring colony of germs in the same petri dish. Dr. Fleming was never able to purify his samples of penicillin, but he became the first person to publish the news of its germ-killing power. Howard Florey, Ernst Chain and Norman Heatley expanded on Fleming's work in 1938, at Oxford University. They and their staff developed methods for growing, extracting and purifying enough penicillin to prove its value as a drug.
  8. Not said what type of op you are going in for but all the best and I hope everything goes well for you.
  9. At last a reply worth reading. Had the police car been driven within the speed limit the student, playing chicken or not, may have suvived the impact of the car.
  10. If it is the same chap that the tv programme was about, I can assure you that he would have no hesitation in clamping an ambulance/police car or anything else if it parked on his land.. See this link: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-yorkshire-clamper/episode-guide/series-1/episode-1
  11. Sounds like the same chap that was on a tv programme last year, a very unsavory bloke with no feelings at all.
  12. It just goes to show what perverted little minds these people who change thread titles have. It just shows that they are thinking the worst scenario of the thread title, what dirty minds they must have..
  13. Just had a very nice few days in Edinburgh, what a differenc their bus service is against Sheffields crap service.. Adult fare daytime 1 price of £1:40 any distance Child fare daytime 1 price of £0:70 any distance All night buses service £3 as much travel as you want. Clean buses with friendly drivers who actually shout out where and when the next bus stop is. The only downside is you must have the correct fare as the derivers do not have access to any cash to give change. If only Sheffield could provide a service like this. Link for more info: http://www.lothianbuses.com/fares-and-tickets/day-time.html
  14. According to the BBC Breakfast Show, it's official Yorkshires roads the worst in the country, Sheffields pot holes the worst. Tell us something we did'nt allready know.
