I am just glad these muppets don't run York City Council because if they did, the Minster and walls would have been reduced to rubble decades ago.

 

A disgrace but I expected nothing more, nothing less.

 

But think, instead of the crumbly old walls and Minster you could have some big green metal thingy or something with attractive pink and green pastel decorations.

A 1000 extra students in the city, expansion of one of the Sheffield's greatest assets (the university), £80 million worth of capital investment, tens of millions of pounds flowing into the local economy every year, more jobs, more prestige for the city...the list goes on.

 

The sooner that decaying, derelict, boarded up relic is replaced by the new University Engineering Building the better.

Whilst it's a shame, at least the University put their money where there mouth is and invest heavily in Sheffield.

 

Isn't the new block £80 million? - That should at least create some employment for hard up construction workers.

 

If it wasn't for the University you may as well shut down Sheffield City Centre, because they do a lot more than the Council with regards to it's well being.
