  1. I didn't have a particularly good pregnancy from a health point of view but PLENTY of people do and even when I wasn't well the excitement and anticipation overrode everything else. Ignore the scaremongers and enjoy planning for your new arrival!
  2. Very sorry to hear that. Best wishes for the coming months.
  3. Bad practice. Dangerous. Illegal. Stupid and brainless. If I ever saw a driver doing that, I'd report him instantly.
  4. Lovely isn't it? Hard work but very rewarding to see your borders clear of everything but what your hard earned money paid to put there!
  5. This is strange - I'm way over in Lodge Moor and the gas smell has been really strong this morning - I was thinking of ringing the Gas Board but could it be the same smell everyone else is talking about and it's city-wide? In which case what's causing it?
  6. Yeah, but we all congratulated her, told her to have a good time etc. - how much effort would it have taken to write a few lines about whether she had a good time or not? It kind of puts you off helping anyone again.
  7. we never did get a report back on this after we voted to help! I hope it was good.
  8. I like the idea of calling yourself mature whilst telling everyone you went drinking in town aged 15......
  9. I'm sure she can. It was absolutely nothing like the incident described by 0742sheff which must be have been really scary. This child wasn't touched by the guy - he spoke to her, she ran off. The End.
  10. And for some reason they didn't work. I can never get over the ignorance of people on here when they think that *all* you have to do to lose weight is exercise and eat less. Yes, that is the answer in the majority of cases but we all know thin people who can eat themselves silly and not put weight on and then there are people who seemingly only have to look at a cake to gain some. It's incredibly disheartening to cut out all the stuff you love to eat, spend 40 minutes exercising every day, have a tiring manual job and still see nothing come off week after week.
  11. We went on Mothers' Day too and the food was awful. We've been lots of times before and it's always been nice but my roast dinner was terrible too. As you say the beef was so chewy that I actually had toothache for half an hour afterwards. The roasties were horrible - it was as if they were reheated. And yes, the vegetables seem more than 'al dente'. I really should have complained but I felt mean as this had been booked for me by my daughter and my husband & I didn't want to upset them. I'm very surprised to hear that children were running around as they used to have a paragraph on their menu explaining (in a nice way) that they wouldn't tolerate badly behaved children.
  12. It was in the large article in The Star last night. The on-line version has only a few lines.
  13. Apparently, although Holly was, according to her mum, "only a few feet away from her home" and ran straight inside, she also saw the man run off and board a no. 32 bus.
  14. It has pay machines around the car park - I can't understand what people might imagine they were for other than to buy a ticket from? Also has a massive board outside with the charges on. It is a clumsy system tho - you pay £1 for an hour but this is refunded at the till if you spend £5. The ticket comes in 2 pieces, you put one half in your car and take the other half into the shop. It was chaotic at lunchtime with queues for the checkouts halfway down the shop. Did enjoy the free champagne though - and they brought round little cakes for people getting fed up in the queues.
  15. Doesn't sound like there was much mis-management on the part of Sheffield Homes to me... “We work very closely with tenants, firstly when they sign up for a council property, then throughout their tenancy and during the rent recovery process, to offer support for any additional needs they may have. “Mr Royston told us he did not have any particular needs that prevented him from paying his rent. I wonder who took the (non) story to The Star - was it Mr Royston?
  16. Couldn't agree more. Opinion is always going to be hugely divided as to what caused the disaster, feelings still run high - I know mine do & naturally I feel very angry when I see certain contributions to these threads. I'm sure my opinion makes other people angry too. I'm sure this thread will descend into angry argument.
  17. Exactly. But no-one does that these days. I guess all the rest of the passengers sat there like stuffed dummies and stared out of the window.
  18. I think you're right - I'd completely forgotten it had started off as that almost a year ago, there's so much about the selling off of the premises. So yes, mods, I apologise. :-(
  19. What on earth is this thread doing in "Going Out"? It's got absolutely nothing to do with going out. That's just a moderator looking at the title and going no further than that.
