Given that the free solar panel scheme has now been up and running for a while now, with companies like A Shade Greener, I would be very keen to hear from anyone who has had free solar panels installed for say 6 months or more. I am particularly keen to know what sort of savings you have managed to achieve, and as to whether or not your energy usage pattern has changed much eg running washing machine / tumble drier during the day, using storage heaters /immersion heaters, using more electrical cooking gadgets (as opposed to gas). Reason for question is we have been approved for installation but would like to hear about what the real benefits have been in the Sheffield area before we go ahead. Thanks in advance.

Camping in caravan by a river or stream
jinnertomcat replied to adelrose's topic in Sheffield Camping & Caravanning
Sherwood Forest Holiday Park has lakes and a stream / river running through it. Not all pitches are adjacent to the water though so you would need to specify that when booking http://www.sherwoodforestholidaypark.co.uk -

I believe South Yorkshire Motorhomes at Dinnington has some space. Also I think there is a storage facility next to Sheffield caravans at Beighton / Crystal Peaks. -

If the caravan is static a licence for your home address provides sufficient coverage if television sets are not used at the same time at home and in the static caravan. "For a static caravan, mobile home or moveable chalet used as your second home. You’re covered by your main home’s TV Licence, as long as you or your family don’t watch TV in both premises at the same time." - TV licensing website

Renault Grand Scenic problem
jinnertomcat replied to Andy Pitts's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Common fault with these I am afraid - we have had to have 3 windows replaced on ours although with some pressure we managed to get the dealer to do 2 of them for free (charging back direct to Renault I believe). Plenty of info around on google about them -

Xbox 360 4gb kinect info ps pass on
jinnertomcat replied to doom bringer's topic in Computer & Tech Chat
Just after Christmas Morrisons in Retford had the 4GB XBox 360 with Kinect for £199 as well although they were snapped up very quickly and couldn't say when they would get any more in. -
We have Sky multi-room at home. In the living room we have a Sky + box, and in the dining room we have a "normal" sky digibox (i.e not Sky +) which is on its last legs. I believe there is only a single cable input from the dish to the dining room. I am going to buy a second hand replacement box - will a Sky + box work with a single cable input ? I know I won't be able to watch one channel and record another but will I at least be able to watch TV. Or should I just go and get an old style digibox Thanks for advice

Bruges is a beautiful city with some very good bars and fantastic chocolate shops !! Personally I prefer the Rhine Valley to the Mosel - Bacharach, Rudisheim (the Drosselgasse is a great little alley full; of shops and bars), Koblenz, Mainz, Wiesbaden are all very pretty towns (I lived there for 3 years) and are just a short drive from the Mosel area. Cologne is also well worth visiting even if just to see the cathedral. Also Heidelberg (about 50km south of Frankfurt) has plenty to see and do if you are passing anywhere near on your way to Bavaria In Bavaria, Munich itself is a fascinating city. Garmisch Partenkirschen is also well worth a visit.
