  1. I think you'll find it is prescribed for neuropathic pain and is the newer preparation of gabapentin. How do you know he is overdosing? What a strange statement. If a medication is prescribed "when required" the patient is normally what the maximum is - i.e., Take 2 four times a day IF YOU REQUIRE THEM. I think you have misunderstood what he is saying? which is 2x 500mg four times a day !! and death by paracetamol overdose is not a nice way to die... I'm worried, if you work at the pain clinic I hope it isn't giving out the drugs. Amitriptyline is an anti-depressent, which in small doses is useful for neuropathic pain. Someone in severe pain constantly does not need to be cross examined by someone who doesn't even describe the drugs properly; leave him be, if you can't say anything constructive why try to damage his confidence? I can understand why he refuses stronger pain killers. I take strong painkillers, including oramorph and dihidrocodeine - and you're right, the pain probably isn't going to go, but you can learn to deal with it in a way in which you can lead a very normal life!
  2. Ask your GP for a referral to the Pain Solutions Pain Management Programme, I have RSD/CRPS, with unbearable pain, and although they can't stop the pain it can teach you to be mindful of it, how you can adapt your life and regain tolerance meaning you can do more and more without the pain affecting you more and more. Pain Management Solutions have also arranged for me to have accupuncture, help with carrying on physio and I think it is 6 1-1 sessions for relaxation to help with it too. I have had unbearable pain for over 16 years now; it hurts now more than ever before, but I manage to work because I want to work - and it would probably hurt more if I didn't because I wouldn't have something so good to distract me. Give it a go? Asking can't hurt and it could potentially give you your life back, despite the pain.
  3. I'll dig one out and pop it in the post
  4. Hi, Yes, I have a box full left, but there are no photographs in the middle section (hence them not being sold). If you let me have your address I can either pop one in the post or drop it off depending on where you live?
  5. I was wondering if any of you have had problems with Trading Standards in Sheffield? On 5th December I emailed them asking for advice. I received an email back after 20 minutes asking for more information; I was very impressed with the speed of the reply. However, since then, I have heard nothing. I have emailed each week asking for updates and when I have phoned them I have been told the guy dealing with my case is on holiday. Could anyone give me some practical advice regarding how to proceed to get information about my case? Thank you, Catherine
  6. I rang the walk in centre, they do issue repeat prescriptions as long as you take along the original box (to get details from) or the repeat issuing slip. Thank you for helping, hopefully this will help others who also get caught short with their tablets!
  7. Thank you so much, I will call and let him know to ring the walk in centre in case they can help. Really appreciate your help. Cath T
  8. Does anyone know if it is possible, and if so, how, can my son get an urgent repeat prescription? He inadvertently ran out of essential tablets over the holiday period. Would he be able to get his repeat prescription at a walk in centre? Or at least an "advance" of a few tablets to tide him over? Any help would be very much appreciated.
  9. Of course they are interested in your past! Why would an employer want to employ a new worker if they have previously been sacked for gross misconduct? I'm not sure if you have ever had to employ someone but if so you're asking to get burnt!
  10. Was there a lot of damage to your car, or an injury? Ask your insurance company to do a locus plan & report and that should help determine liability. PM me if you want more info.
  11. Hi, I need 2 wishbones fitting to my car but I'm not sure what a reasonable price is for the work and parts, can anyone help? Thank you.
  12. Hi, yes it was Kwikfit that said the work needed doing, thank you all for your help, really appreciate it
  13. Hi, thank you for that info, I have just called them - straight away he knew it was a kwikfit quote without me saying anything! Really appreciate your advice.
  14. Hi, My son needs this work doing on his car, he has got a price from Kwik fit that sent him a funny colour. Can anyone recommend a good garage for this work to be done? It needs: Front Suspension Arm (Kwikfit say the rubber brushes are rubbing?) New Back Calipers New Discs and Pads all the way round. Any useful advice would be very much appreciated. Cath
