  1. Not something you really buy in a regular shop, the test centre might tell you or try and find someone who has one.
  2. Try borrowing some memory and see if it fixes it. Or reload vista.
  3. charlies pantry .. always wondered what it was called - no wonder the bloke is incredibly tall. They make a good sandwich incredibly fast.
  4. I've used the park and ride from Tesco Abbeydale - the bus goes up to the hospitals. Trouble is always have difficulty working out where the return bus goes from, they produce the maps in crayon so its difficult to work out. I have rarely caught a tram as they just do not go anywhere near where I live, but I did once drive to loxley to get the park and ride to the station to go to leeds, mainly because I realised trams had been in sheffield for over 15 years and I had never been on one. I love the way the tram connects to the station - its a longish walk for me to a bus stop and then they dont seem to go near the station either. Halfway, never worked out who would find that convenient or how to get there to use the park and ride ... its certainly not halfway to town. Tried to park once in the one near the Dixons call centre. Man from Dixons was so rude, certainly will never try that or ever buy from Dixons. Park and ride was full I think.
  5. Saw Hammer No More the fingers in the 02 extra bit. Ceiling so low the sound was awful,k there were about six of us in the audience since there were three bands on and the audience dwindled but we were probably the only us not related to the band (despite looking like the bands parents). The carpet was so sticky that you could seriously sway without falling over. Which at my age is an advantage. It was embarrassing, a lot of bands give Sheffield a wide and you can see why.
  6. Sloan Medical Practice shares the car park with Lidl, slightly down the hill from Heeley Retail Park.
  7. I think its weird how the Netto at Woodseats was allowed to change to an Asda but they had to sell off the one at Manor Top. Surely there are plenty of supermarkets.
  8. Not tried this myself but you probably want to go somewhere like maplins or maybe a specialist computer shop (NOT PC WORLD) and get some sort of gizmo / port convertor or amazon sell VGA to S-Video / RCA Adaptor although its probably a bit outmoded, particularly as you only have 70 days until the digital switch over when most video recorders etc will become obselete
  9. I think Marcos and Kitos in Woodseats both do this, Portofino's at Heeley Bottom used to and I think I saw that the new restaurant on Hutcliffe Wood, Barretts had a sign saying they do.
  10. I think the fact that it is boarded up means its not "nice" and the fact that the house next door is up for rent probably means their neighbours dont think so either.
  11. I have a massive tree outside my house, that constantly drops sticky stuff and sticks. A letter from the council proclaimed that they were only removing / or triming trees where there was a court case (I am paraphrasing) against them to do so, causing subsidance etc. Trees blocking light or TV signals would not be a priority. So I would have thought either the tree is dead or its causing major problems (roots in the sewer / subsidance) as my experience is that they do not look after the trees in the way they should (Lime trees should be pollarded for example)
  12. Whilst its fair to say that there is probably a need to cross this road to continue on the signposted walk to graville square (sounds posher than it is believe you me) there seems to be absolutely no rationale about where crossings are put. Its like russian routlette. When my kids started at Meadowhead .. they are now at university, I pleaded for a crossing on Dyche Lane for kids using the bus .. not a priority, too expensive yah yah yah. 10 years later, they put a crossing at the top of the road. Just how many people would actually need there to be a crossing on this point on Archer Road in order to cross the road? Well it must tick somebodies box, but not mine.
  13. I do Yoga at virginactive, they have a yoga class most days of the week more or less, pilates too which is even better for posture. When I have looked into yoga classes separately it made the gym seem cheap in comparison because you get all the facilities as well.
  14. High Street Hair and Beauty at Dronfield (which is good and does Bio Sculpture Gel - £30 for first visit, £23 for infills) I've heard Moorview do Gels but not had personal experience of this.
  15. I bought one from John Lewis. Not that expensive, good quality and I suspect if it went faulty they would be good about sorting it. Although as its good quality it has not. I dont think they have them in the store, but you can see them on line and collect from store which I did.
  16. I'd like them to trim the trees outside my house .. then again less than 100 days till digital switch over so maybe I wont get much chance to notice tv reception again anyway.
  17. I've driven past a place in Leeds that advertises GHD repair on the road to Pudsey.
  18. Probably twycross in distance, but chester is probably better - it has more of a range, but twycross has a lot of monkeys.
  19. Ask at a care home, the two in the sheffield star at risk of closure obviously deal with dementia patients but you will probably have to fund a crb check.
  20. Whilst we should all queue we have all been young once. Can you honestly say you have considerate to absolutely everyone ever? If we really have to have rules on who can use a lift we really are a nanny state. I am in rude health but I have my lazy moments - people who queue jump could be in urgent need or plain ignorant, unless we talk to them and find out we will never know.
  21. I've been to the picture dome a couple of times ... Steve Hackett .. bit like stepping into the twilight zone. They are still refurbishing but it makes a nice venue.
  22. you can google and find some lockable bathroom cabinets http://www.romanathome.com/p-649-lockable-mirrored-bathroom-cabinet.aspx http://www.notjusttaps.co.uk/cabinet-met-medicine-m.htm I would expect that the shops selling disability type aids might have these. e.g. the one next to wicker pharmacy.
  23. Bought a tv from richer sounds and they have a bloke who does this type of install. Not got his details handy but they would probably pass on if you asked.
