  1. Abbeydale Road then South begins on London Road between S7 and S8 and forms the border between both post codes until Millhouses, Abbeydale Road South carries on between S7 and S8 until Limb Bridge where it enters S17. No S11 and no S2. Barnsley Road begins between S3 and S4 and ends in S5. Abbeydale Road South is still Abbeydale Road, it's just the South portion. Yes, the houses numbers go back to 0 but it's still the same road? We're not as anal as Planner1 are we? Penistone Road begins in S3 and ends in S6. Penistone Road North doesn't make it to S5. Anyway, nothing anyone can't just check on an AtoZ.
  2. Up until a few weeks ago I'd never heard of a Mayfield Valley in Sheffield. I've seen photos of it on the BBC website with the snow but still couldn't recognise where it was. I've looked at maps; OS, AtoZ, Google, A1 and there is, as Grahame and Greybeard have said, a tributary of the Porter Brook called the Mayfield (is it simply the Mayfield or Mayfield Brook?). It indeed joins the Porter at Carr Bridge on Wood Cliffe (road) and takes its sources just up from Douse Croft, passing by New May House Farm (on Foxhall Lane), Mill View Farm (on Mark Lane) and Mill House on Mark Lane. Mayfield Valley exists, it is the length of Mayfield Road (0.9miles) but one can argue Mayfield Valley is in the Porter Brook Valley. Either way, it's a very nice part of Sheffield.
  3. The newer buses have been doing it for something like three months; high pitch farting noise every minute or so.
  4. Never understood how Stagecoach took over from National Express. Midland Mainline was miles better: better and longer trains, free tea, more staff, they refurbished or rebuilt all the stations between London and Sheffield. Stagecoach come and all we've been hearing is how they want to downgrade services and annoy people.
  5. As the above have said, £1.30 on either 87 (from Abbeydale Road) or 88 (from Ecclesall Road). £10 for the week if you're adventurous (nearly half the price of First!).
  6. Check the yellow pages, call a solicitor and check if they work on Sunday, we don't have a crystal ball.
  7. My grandad, Kenneth Dorling and his sister Joan lived on the Manor in the 40s-50s. I fail to remember where on the Manor they lived.
  8. Why not complain to Derbyshire councils, this is Sheffield ya know
  9. Why do people insist on throw any litter out their car windows?
  10. I missed this and this thread which is a shame. You didn't say what the gateway project was and thus what was going to be discussed at this meeting. What's it about?
  11. They could or you could use your time on the Internet differently and instead of asking for recipes, go look for them. You could also contact "the supermarkets" and ask them what they think.
  12. People are more pecuniary these days. OAPs don't pay for public transport, children pay cheap, "normal", working, taxpaying people pay full wack. Some no doubt think anyone who doesn't pay for the transport can stand up, it is selfish.
  13. Your car was involved in an accident, have you never had one? Doesn't matter if you were driving, parked, if it's your fault or not. You have the bus' details, pass them on to your insurance.
  14. I was going to suggest Granelli's. I can say without a doubt they will have light blue coloured raspberry bonbons, they also have other bonbons, probably also produced my Maxons (Meersbrook). Grannelli's also have a stall on Castle Market.
  15. The blues and twos are for warning you and I if they think it necessary. The constabulary is not obliged to have them on to pass lights at red.
  16. Went there on Sunday. £8 is a little steep but not nearly as expensive as the food at the nearby stalls! One thing about the rink, it could have done with being flattened more often, looked and felt like a rugby pitch.
