The_DADDY
University of Sheffield students set up encampment on campus to show solidarity with Palestine Students worldwide have been setting up encampments on university campuses, and now a Sheffield coalition has followed suit. Students at the University of Sheffield walked out of lectures today to demonstrate against the genocide in Palestine and the university’s links to the arms trade. Following the example of student encampments worldwide, students have set out tents and gazebos outside the Students Union. Leading the walkout and encampment are Sheffield Campus Coalition for Palestine (SCCP), who wrote in a press release: Students at the University of Sheffield have today (1 May 2024) begun a mass encampment in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in protest against allegations of their university’s complicity in Israeli apartheid and the ongoing bombardment of Gaza. SCCP are a coalition of staff, students, and alumni from both the University of Sheffield and Hallam University, with support from local trade unions and community activist groups. Pyrotequila
Grr no edit! Imagine punching someone in the face and then being surprised and playing the victim when they punch you back ... that's Palestine. Don't start it if you can't take it. 3

Resident
Go down and offer to buy them all plane tickets to Gaza so they can go and help out.... Personal view: The Palestinian government is in league with HAMAS. Therefore any support for Palestine is support for HAMAS. HAMAS is a known terrorist organisation and under the Terrorism Act 2000, supporting a terrorist organisation on UK shores is a crime punishable by imprisonment. Such protests are often also filled with anti-semitic views being shared therefore also a Hate Crime. 4

Wasn’t it Israel who chucked the first punch in 1948? The situation started well before 1948…

The situation started well before 1948… I think the modern generation (the ones protesting) are more focused on the most recent conflict. I highly doubt they've put a great deal of thought into it... I've even seen videos online of people at these protests who have no idea what the protest is... they've literally been herded into it and had a sign put in their hands by an organiser 🤦♂️
