Hallelujah, Sheffield's worst Indian restaurant is no more.  It's closed and the interior has been ripped out. I'm hoping it's not simply  a refurb by the current mob but that is quite possible. 

 

Hopefully the unit will provide a decent Indian restaurant for Broomhill at last.

Closed about a month ago now. It is for good it was in the Star a few months back. 

 

Can't say I'm too sorry either. I once had the misfortune of dealing with a young lady working there who turned out to be the owner's daughter........possibly the rudest person I've ever come across!

Those of us who, for many years, queued outside of Record Collector all night for Record Store Day will miss it. Always enjoyed a 2 in the morning curry, especially on frosty nights.

Broomhill could do with a decent curry house although to be fair they aren't many decent places in Sheffield anymore. Would be nice to have a few quality ales in Itchy Pig and then stroll across the road for a top notch curry...

 

At the minute our go to place is Cafe Indus on London Road. 

 

Apparently Cutlers up near Gleadless Town End is closing too...

An interesting bit of reporting by the Star.

“Broomhill shops where his business was located were “temporarily” closed to be used as a wider footpath.”

No wonder his business failed.

In my haste to slag off the Star I failed to notice it. Why didn’t they underline the whole sentence? I think they were trying to catch me out…and they did, lol.

Blame anyone but himself. Got absolutely nothing to do with a 2 star hygiene rating, with customers horrified at witnessing unused pickle from tables being reused, with customers spending the whole of the next day in the bathroom, etc...
