  1. 'The Whole Of The Moon' - The Waterboys. "I saw the rain dirty valley. You saw Brigadoon. I saw the crescent. You saw the whole of the moon....." The catchiest song you'll hear all week. It still sounds wonderful
  2. Well, they were Australian. Did I ever tell you about when my mate went to Australia to work once? He's in the music biz. He got off the plane knackered in Oz, cleared Customs, collected his luggage and went to the taxi rank. Got in a cab and the driver started giving him some old chat, the whole 'Welcome to Australia' bit. He asked my mate what he was doing over there, so he told him. Cabbie said "Oh yeah, I used to be in a band once. I was the bass player in The Mixtures.......". My buddy's like "WHAT??????". He was ecstatic. It made his trip. Got the bloke's autograph and everything. He & I both bought 'The Pushbike Song' from Sine Electrical in Broomhill. One of our favourite songs.
  3. 'Too Short Arms (I Don't Care)' - Mott
  4. 'The Pushbike Song' - The Mixtures. "Ridin' along on my pushbike, honey, When I noticed you. Ridin' downtown in a hurry, honey. Down South Avenue...."
  5. 'The Carnival Is Over' - The Seekers. "Like a drum, my heart was beating, And your kiss was sweet as wine, But the joys of love are fleeting, for Pierrot and Columbine...."
  6. 'Angel Fingers (A Teen Ballad) ' - Wizzard Awful footage quality - but golden memories!
  7. 'Almaz' - (don't thank me, thank Randy Crawford)
  8. 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now' - The Smiths
  9. 'The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke' - Queen. "Oberon and Titania watched by a harridan, Mab is the queen and there's a good apothecary-man, Come to say hello....."
  10. 'Walking Down Madison' - Kirsty MacColl
  11. For those who couldn't get down, here's a few of my faves. The sun wasn't kind. Very bright over the top of the display board. Lot of glare. I dunno who won it, but the Hawley & Jess ones are the best in this non-artist's opinion.
  12. 'Gabby's Dollhouse' with the youngest g-daughter.
  13. The miming isn't brilliant, but it's really laid back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5Za8pKGT2E&ab_channel=TatianaEva-Marie%26theAvalonJazzBand
  14. Ah, but is it the proper ABC or Martin Fry with hired guns? I'd love to hear the originals do it. (But any ABC live is worth hearing, especially in these troubled times).
  15. 'My National Pride' - Dexy's Midnight Runners "I've often thought about, The men where I came from, And times ago... Their sons, these days, are found, In US and Britannia care...."
  16. "I gotta girl named...." 'Bony Maronie' - Showaddywaddy
  17. Just binged-watched the first series of 'Fleabag'. It's probably the most disturbing tv I've seen in many a year. I think I need a couple of days away from it and a few stiff drinks before attempting the 2nd series. A misjudged suicide attempt, a*se-***ing as a preference scenes, a small t*ts fascination, the best evil step/Godmother that Disney never created, bad art, self-loathing, nymphomania, extortion of gullible customers, weird mystifying behaviour around periods, a retreat for misogynists, bad waitressing, bad interviews and a lonely guinea pig. One aimed solely at a female viewership I suspect. Most of it went over my head. Did like the bits with Hugh Dennis though.
  18. Dire Straits - 'Telegraph Road'
  19. Tori Amos - '97 Bonnie & Clyde'
  20. Let's not go there. How'd you like this one? 'Smooth Criminal' - Michael Jackson (thanks to Peter Parker for the reminder 😀 )
