Interesting topic...

I'm biased in my views as I'm now in my late 40's and realise my sell by date came and went some time back.

However, I can't remember when sex or the insinuation of sex was quite so "in yer face" as it is today.

I vividly remember the pin ups during the 80's Sam Fox, Linda Lusadi (hope I spelt that right) but it all looks incredibly tame by today's comparison. Even my iPhone app BBC News cannot get through a day without mentioning some form of related sex story!!

The recent vile TV show where men and women stand naked brought it home just how depraved we've become. Young lads at work laughing and showing co-workers the latest porn videos they've downloaded!!

Girls obsessed by their looks and desire to be seen as sexy and glamorous.

WTF!!

Now sex saturation has arrived and men are now to be judged as to how they see and view women!! Well what did everyone expect? Standards today are frankly in the gutter and women think nothing of dressing like tarts and some acting the part too! Go down town on a Friday night - it's like slapper city.

Yet men are now being accused of taking it to far, well maybe if women showed a little self respect things might not have gone this far.

Oooo, you were doing really well there - society has become, for want of a better word, more sexualised but then you ruin it by blaming women for wearing short skirts and boob tubes as if that never happened in your day - which of course it did.

It isn't so much as to how they dress, more as to how they act when they've dressed as they have. If you act and make yourself look game, why be surprised if that's the response you get.

I'm not condoning either - but for gods sake whatever happened to manners, style and decorum.

I do hold and blame the media in all its forms for this. The lack of decency has opened pandoras box.

Like I posted elsewhere women should know that tits'n'teeth will send the wrong message and not every man has his testes between his ears! Likewise men should realise that not every damn woman out there who happens to smile or say hello is gagging for it!!

Let's hope the media and advertisers can show some restraint and maybe lead by example.

Just what is that supposed to show in response to my post. You can't have read either my post or your link, never mind understood either. Here is is again.

Just what is excessive? You first need to look at the black population stats for the district you are analysing. Then you need to factor in the district crime rate, the race breakdown of perpetrators, whether the people being stopped are known to the police, etc.

I suspect that your unsubstantiated claim will turn out to be a wild one and once you've looked at the data critically I think you will struggle to prove yourself right.

Can YOU justify your claim along with the other on topic ones? I think not, but you can try. Off you pop.

Have another go Cyclone. Off you pop.

Are you claiming that blacks are not disproportionally subject to stop and search?

When you've clarified that, is there anything you want to say about the war on men?

Utter nonsense. D'you think the suffragettes shouldn't have complained?

That's political. I was talking about peoples personal lives.

---------- Post added 17-02-2018 at 15:38 ----------

That's just rubbish. Votes for women for starters, wouldn't have happened unless somebody complained. Unions. Id agree they aren't as valid as they used to be but still have a purpose.

And now you've made me agree with halibut. Thanks for that.

Your'e welcome.

So if your wife is getting suggestive comments at work she should put up? Felt up at work "it's just banter after all" she should just put up? Less wages than the bloke next to her? "Whatever darlin' mek us a cup of tea".

Good lord.

So basically you're denying that women have suffered from any discrimination at all and saying that feminism isn't needed.

Along with a bit of an ad hom attack, because you'd rather attack the poster than the argument.

Is this the latest right wing tactic? When you can't prove a point, or even make a coherent one, call the people arguing against you snowflakes, as if that makes your view correct. It'd be funny, if it weren't tragic.

Knock yourself out.

Nice try, your the one who narrowed it down to me being old and lacking 'your' superior level of education, so expect a bit back snowflake .... you are one, they generally tend to be the middle class uni educated types.

If your going to push moral superiority based on you having an education I pity you, that's tragic too, therefore when I say I have known plenty of strong gritty women, and that there always has been strong gritty women, maybe I should couple that with, generally 'working class strong gritty women' because they are the ones I am more familiar with, they have a bit of backbone and compete with men they don't expect them to move aside and give them a quota

You make some very good points there fella, it's a funny old world when objectification is used in arguments against walk on models at darts etc and the 'right on' Channel 4 mob churn out Naked dating or whatever it is !

Agree with you there, every photo you see of the female so called celebrity she's hardly got out and and trying to sell herself to the male viewers and talk tv programmes when both men and women have sex on tv and we say they're celebs, wow how low have we stooped.

Actually I said that these seemed to be the factors that divided the two sides.

---------- Post added 17-02-2018 at 17:14 ----------

I reckon your another man of the world, do you know what women want based on first hand life experience or are you just swayed by leftist 'right on' ideology, this forum seems to attract quite a few of them, they tend to be the 'real' privileged singleton types :suspect:

And I said that after you accused those arguing in favour of womens rights of being "singletons".

So you keep making the ad hom attacks, then when I generalise you think it's about you, perhaps old and uneducated touched a nerve?

I think you entirely misunderstand what equality is and why we should try to achieve it.

It's nothing to do with whether women are or can be strong and gritty or not, it's about not requiring them to work harder to achieve the same as an equivalent man, it's about not paying them less simply because they're female. It's about fairness.

Part of the problem, a desire to control how women appear... Don't you think it is and should be up to them?

Did you even look at the link? It supports the point I made. You can pretend it doesn't if it makes you feel better.

Off you pop yourself.

Not offended by being called a singleton too eh :D

What rights have women not got by the way :suspect:

No nerve touched here, I would not come bigging myself up as educated though, I have seen plenty like you that think they are somewhat superior because they went to uni and I wouldn't give ya tuppence for most of them, or their opinions ;)

Here educate yoursen, not all oldies share my opinion, young lass front left talks a bit o sense !

Or try this one, this guy's educated :
