Is Ruth Davidson an MP? I thought she was an MSP so unless we have another election I doubt they'd pick her.

What's more disturbing is that no other party (Labour) is capitalising on these **** ups.

A more centrist Labour would have wiped the floor at this election. This country is ripe for a Macron style party to take over.

Against a more centrist Labour Party, she wouldn't have called a snap election in the first place. As we've all seen, she grossly misjudged the situation. May offered "strength and stability", but came over as just the opposite. Corbyn looked the more statesmanlike and composed of the two.

A Corbyn led Labour Party has done enough to show that they are not unelectable. That would still need further transformation into actually winning, but it is no longer an unachievable dream, as it had looked a year or so ago. It's good to see a few Labour MPs now coming forward and openly saying they were wrong in opposing Corbyn.

There has been a sea change in how left wing politics might work. A more conciliatory approach. There are people voting Labour who would never have done so in the past. The party does not rely on the people who would "vote for a donkey wearing a red rosette", if it ever did.

Another point...

In international terms, the current Labour Party are not that left wing.

When will May actually tell 'ordinary people' all about this party who are propping her party up,and so are part of a government ruling over everybody, most of whom will know nothing about the policies of these people, but who have power over them.?

'Friends in the DUP'...so now you are friends with terrorists supporters Theresa, this just keeps getting better and better doesn't it. Please let their be 3 Tory backbenchers who aren't comfortable with this and vote against the whip.
I'd have great hopes about Kenneth Clarke at least.

On your further post: the rapidity with which May seemingly cobbled her not-quite-a-coalition-government together with the DUP, makes me wonder how much the party machine and Tory MPs were consulted about it, and how many Tory MPs are comfortable with getting it on with the DUP. Therein might lie the balance of your required 3 votes ;)

It's certainly going to be interesting to observe how Dacre & co. sell this alliance in their broadsheets, isn't it? ;) Edited by L00b

It certainly is. The DUP are a bunch of religious fundamentalists with strong historical links with Loyalist terrorist groups.

The Democratic Unionist Party are the anti-abortion pro Brexit party of climate change deniers who don't believe in LGBT rights who Theresa May has chosen to prop up her failing governement.

It can't get much worse .

They were the only party to oppose the Good Friday Agreement too, if I recall correctly.

Everything has turned out well in the end. The DUP have taken the Tories over the line to form a Government . There are two big pluses to this.

1/ The DUP are strongly in favour of a hard Brexit , which is good for the country.

2/ It stops any chance of Red Jezza forming a government propped up by the SNP.

Corbyn and the SNP could have been in No10 this morning.
