Huge plume of smoke!

Recommended Posts

Has something else just caught fire? The smoke seems to have got thicker in the last few seconds.

It's actually in a concentrated area off Effingham Street. Think it's a scrap metal merchant's.

Looks like it could be Worthing Road.

Sorry but this is neither the time or place to be making asinine jokes. This is someone's business/livelihood being destroyed. Not to mention that there maybe people hurt.

Now locations been confirmed, my sympathy to the guys who won't be working there for the next few weeks.

It looks like Littledale - though what is burning is beyond me, starting to smell a bit like car tyers but it's been burning to long for that.

I can see it from Intake. Just heard on radio, its a tyre place on fire at Attercliffe apparently. Effingham Road is closed at present as it is a huge fire!

The smoke from burning plastic is toxic - people in S9 should stay indoors.
