andygardener
I've only just seen this article in the star giving The Dear Leaders take on the councils pointless fairness commission (plenty of discussion on that in other threads). http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/business/our-best-chance-to-cut-poverty-in-sheffield-1-5368212 However what stood out was this part - Coun Dore said that the £1m set aside to help make some of the recommendations a reality comes from a £1m underspend on last year’s council budget. “We could not put that back into a service because it would only end up being cut again after a year,” she said. So this is the person who put her name to a letter claiming that budget cuts would lead to rioting, who claims that every penny counts. The council find a million quid down the back of the town hall sofa but instead of spending it on services they have come up with a plan to waste it on "fairness" because if they spent it on services it would only get cut next year. Here's a tip for the dear leader, an extra year of services is better than none or you could save £250,000 worth of services for 4 years.

Kid Sampson
And yet people continue to vote for them! The threads on here seem to demonstrate that a sizable chunk think it's total nonsense so hopefully that will translate into lost seats at the next round of elections. Do we have any this year? Tom Walton
Labour could put up the statue of the 'Steel Man' as a candidate and he would be elected.
Grappler
The frightening thing, all joking apart, is that this person leads the council of this city, incredible.

Stan Tamudo
SF should have its own Julie Dore section. I don't know much about the lass but she gets some hammer on here. Edited January 31, 2013 by Stan Tamudo
