  1. Where does Bunny Gray, Lish Boardman and Kieth Littlewood rate in this?
  2. There was a foreman called Percy, brown overall, flat cap and glasses. A Mr Lemons another forman, can't remember his first name. No, not Jack. There's plenty more when I think about it tomorrow.
  3. Only last month I saw a name on this site as being my cousin that I have never seen. I knew she was in Australia and thought it had to be the same person so contacted her. You can't believe how happy it has made us both , we are exchanging family pictures and catching up on years that we never had together, just because of one small post she made on here. The internet is bad for somethings but also good for many others.
  4. Well then it just goes to show who has all the money to spend.
  5. The smoking ban? surely by now it would have or has it trade. How long has it been? it seems like years to me.
  6. Can he remember the girls also? He was such a big hearthrob at school my sister used to go crazy over him. we used to sleep together as kids and I got sick of hearing about this boy she had a crush on. . . Barry Bishop. All the girls were mad about him but I didn't understand then because I was younger.
  7. I can't understand why you can't send reply but it's not the easiest of sites to send PM. I'll explain who I am in another PM. Have you got your PM on open to messages in the Control Panel. Not just " open to Contacts " .
  8. Alex already quoted that they are doing it twice so doesn't that mean twice the amount of food. It all depends on how many guests you are catering for and how many times, You didn't take in what they were saying before you pounced
  9. Don't go there. I used to take mine when it was called Klick but now it's changed hands the colour quality is crap. I've took them to Boots just a few yards away from the now Max Speilman, they're not perfect but still better than Speilmans. To think that in the 80s I used to post my roll film off to them because they were the best in the world. What went wrong?
  10. Well that's ok then, all's fair in love and war as they say, but if you are an innocent victim just going about your business and you get knifed then that is not two people agreeing to have a fight. That is being a coward having to have your mates help you to fight one man.
  11. Why is it that when I hear Christmas carols it always brings tears to my eyes? I was in Morrisons on Hillsborough on Thursday when I heard a band playing Christmas carols, very traditional , I loved it. I think it cheered a lot of people up and got them into the Christmas spirit after all the doom and gloom recently. When I passed them I noticed they were from St Mary's primary school ,where ever that it. What did stand out was that they were mostly young girls, doesn't the young boys of today have an interest in blowing their own trumpets or are they more into guitars? Well done band , you sounded great.
  12. They used to set on students for part time work too, but then again it would be too strenuous work for the students of today.
  13. Council workers have had it too good for too long, especially those working for the Social Security. When they retire early they are advised to go on sick for the next few years to make up their pension. I know of two who travel the world now they have retired but are claiming sickness benefit [ usually for stress ] like they have been advised to do. They openly brag about it, these are the same people who would report you if you were selling your home grown tomatoes for the cost of growing them and you happen to be claiming dole.
  14. I agree with that. I think the Royal Mail do a good job 90% of the time. All you postmen & women , Happy Christmas to you.
  15. No, we have had no bin collection since November 26th. Last week the 10th had a clear road so the did the road at the side of us where the new expensive four bedroomed posh houses are [had to say that ] but never came to the pilgrims. So Friday the 17th of December they will say they can't get for the snow. Or even better , that the lids won't open because they are froze, Ha. At 6 pm I tried to put on item in the bin but couldn't pull the frozen lid up. Roll on spring.
  16. I went yesterday , they are still waiting for delivery.
  17. Yes that's the one, he was my cousin. I just wondered if he could have been of any relation to the lady who's doing the searching
  18. I always remember Lish wearing hush puppies, he'd wear nothing else but hush puppies.
  19. The Collins you are talking about used to be at the bottom of Portland Street and his brother Walt was in Upper Allen Street. It is now mostly skips they deal with. [Walt being the grandad of Jackie ] Not to be confused with the Collins of Hill Street.
  20. You must have been in the same year as me at Chaucer. I remember all of them, saw Jabber and Susan at a school reunion a few years ago. Do you rmember the Addisons?
  21. I emailed them yesterday. Our black bin is still sat there from Friday, they emptied the bins on the road above ours so why didn't they come on our road? No excuse now the roads are clear.
  22. I just need a few more connections , names , to know if I'm on the right track here. Does a Dennis have a connection or an Evelyn from the past maybe your grandma? Or a Douglas? You said what your fathers name is but do you know what his first wife was called? We could have a connection.
