  1. I'm local to the Sharrow Vale Street Food Chef and have had no problems with them. I am interested in whether you have passed your feedback to Street Food Chef or have just posted on here? If you are a good customer and want a place to succeed, I would think it would be more supportive to talk to them directly and give them a chance to fix it.
  2. Seen a flock on Porter Brook View near Frog Walk over the past few days
  3. It seems to be open but with less staff and a smaller menu. I think I read in the Telegraph that it was going to be sold to reopen as a sushi restaurant but that fell through so the owner is back running it again.
  4. As it's a Motability car, I would contact them to make sure it is ok by them. I suspect it will be but they do need to be notified
  5. Primoz has a good write-up in today's Sheffield Telegraph http://tinyurl.com/oxe5yqj
  6. There was a piece in the Sheffield Telegraph recently saying that Baker has moved on to somewhere else so I guess they had to change the name
  7. We've just had 2 new restaurants open in Broomhill - Primoz which seems to be South American type cafe food and Proove which is a pizza place. I've now tried both and think they are both good. The pizzas at Proove are excellent and the place has a lovely atmosphere. It already gets very busy and there's a buzz about the place. I had lunch at Primoz today and it was also really good - I had nachos and my friend had a salad with chicken and chorizo. It seems a lot quieter in there and I'd like to see it get more custom. It's a shame that a lot of the shops have shut but at least most of the restaurants opening up are good and are independent.
  8. I haven't been but friends say that Pure on Raw are amazing http://www.pureonraw.co.uk/
  9. I'd like to put in a strong recommendation for Gosh at Byte IT (username MoZaLaN on here). My husband's computer was in a complete mess and was grinding to a halt. Following on from recommendations for Gosh, I took it to him and he has done the most wonderful job on sorting out all the software problems, replacing some failing parts, and generally making it run like it did when it was first bought 5 years ago. Gosh is the nicest, most generous, helpful person I have come across in a very long time. He is extremely knowledgeable and I can thoroughly recommend him. http://www.byteitltd.co.uk/
  10. Tickets are selling like hotcakes so if you want some, don't hang about!
  11. There was a big police presence there around 2 pm as well
  12. Following on from the recommendation on here I used Bakers Valeting. They came out yesterday and did an excellent job. They are very reasonable and very friendly and the car looks like new now. Highly recommended http://www.bakersvaleting.co.uk/
  13. I've been given the same information. I guess it will be better than Eurospar though why Broomhill needs 3 supermarkets is beyond me
  14. As well as the restaurants listed above I would add Rafters although it is a little out of the centre being in Nether Green.
  15. I was driving back to Broomhill along West Street last night and there were about 10 separate cases of young people crossing the road in front of me with apparently no awareness of an approaching car or maybe a rather naive assumption of their own invincibility. I have a feeling that this has got a lot worse in the last year or so but don't really know why. It really does worry me because one of these days someone will step out in front of my car in dark clothing and I may not manage to see them in time.
  16. Alzheimers patients have been found to have low Vitamin D levels even if they have a healthy diet and spend time outdoors. Not much is known about why this is, but taking large dosages of Vitamin D has improved cognitive function in some of these patients.
  17. We have had notification that they are planning to replace the old police station and toilets with a very contemporary residential dwelling which will be totally out of character in the Broomhill conservation area. I'm not averse to putting a building on the site and I don't disapprove of contemporary architecture, but putting this particular building here is, to my mind, awful. If anyone is interested, go to http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/planningonline and enter reference number 14/03181/FUL. Towards the end of the list of documents, the Revised Application Drawings of 10 September give a picture of what the building will look like.
  18. We've used Katy Burgin at Norrie Waite and Slater and she was excellent.
  19. I saw it on Wednesday and thought it was excellent. No mean feat to get 90 + non-professional actors to put on a very polished performance and a brilliantly sharp and witty script. Go if you can!
  20. The Bath Hotel is a football-free zone
  21. There's a Peregrine webcam at Chichester - their chicks hatched a lot later than the Sheffield and Notts ones and are only a few days old http://www.chichesterperegrines.co.uk/
  22. I am looking to get a new cleaner and was wondering whether anyone had used Cleaners who Care and can give me feedback. Thanks
