  1. Thank you. Had a browse of their website and it looks ideal, so I'll give them a ring later today to make an appointment.
  2. Can anyone recommend a good hairdresser/barber in the S8 area, please? My son is 10 and we've been to the same barber for years, which we drive to, but he hated the last cut and wants to go somewhere else. Think he wants something more modern with a bit more style - typical pre-teen! I know there are loads of salons on Woodseats but I'd love some recommendations please, as I've no idea which ones are good. Within walking distance of Woodseats/Abbey Lane would be ideal. Thanks all.
  3. Thanks for the replies. Did a search but couldn't find a thread on this before posting mine.
  4. There used to be a furniture/sofa place there which had a fire a few years ago. It's now being rebuilt and looks nearly finished. Does anyone know what it'll be?
  5. I'm looking out for a ground floor one, preferably a maisonette with it's own entrance, so when one comes up, I'll ask about the cat issue. Thanks both.
  6. I've been on the council waiting list for just over 5 years and don't have a chance of being first in line for a house - I've bid on several and I'm usually about 30th in line! I'd be more than happy with a flat and they often have no other bidders so I'd be first in line, however I have a cat. Am I right in thinking they don't allow ANY pets in flats, or is it just dogs?
  7. Thinking about taking my 8yo son to watch somewhere in the Burngreave Road/Gower Street area - where would be best to park? What time is the caravan due down there?
  8. Thanks for the garage recommendation, I'll give them a ring. No idea where they are but I have a trusty A-Z! The sunroof leak is definitely leaking between the car roof and sunroof frame, not where the glass is, as it's coming through the material and the front seats are getting soaked. I don't want to go messing about under the bonnet myself as I'm not mechanically minded at all - I'll leave that to the professionals!
  9. I've got an 11 year old Renault Clio which needs some repairs. The first thing is the sunroof leaks so think the seal needs replacing. The other thing is it has an intermittent stalling issue. I've done a bit of online research and it seems the most likely reason for this is the electric throttle body needs replacing, which apparently is a very common issue in that era of Clio. Can anyone recommend a garage that is good with Clios? Ideally in or close to S8. Thanks.
  10. Unfortunately I can no longer afford to run my car and need to sell it. Does anyone know a good dealer that might buy an 11 year old Clio and won't rip me off? Would prefer one in or around S8 if possible. Thanks.
  11. I'm planning on taking my 6yo son to watch this evening, either down towards the bottom end of Eccesall Rd or in town. How likely are we to get parked around the West One/Fitzwilliam St area? Or would we be best to travel by bus? We're coming from Woodseats.
  12. Fright Night's little brother takes place on The Moor from midday until 3pm, ideal for little ones.
  13. I've seen a few old posts on this but I know stylists move around a lot, so I'm looking for up to date info please. My hair is armpit length and very curly/frizzy, so I'm looking for a stylist who's an expert in cutting curly hair, preferably in the Woodseats/S8 area or city centre. Does anyone have any recommendations please?
  14. They do this around S8 too. About a month ago my dad was coming to my house at around 8am, as he takes my son to school on the days I work. I live in a terrace, and as my dad was coming down the passage between the houses to get to my back door. a man was coming the other way. He saw my dad and said 'Just looking for scrap mate', then left. The passage leads to four back yards/gardens, so he was clearly casing gardens for stuff to steal. I left for work shortly after but didn't see them myself, although if I catch them in my garden or any of my neighbour's gardens nicking stuff, there'll be hell to pay.
  15. Oh dear. Hope no-one's seriously hurt. I use that road daily and it's so dangerous if people don't know it well and are going too fast.
