It's been happening for years.

I used to work opposite on Rutland road and when the fun fair was erected in the park it always attracted trouble makers in the evening. Back then ( mid- late nineties) the problem was young Asian lads, not too sure about now.

It's a lovely park obviously now ruined by feral parasites.

Old fashion coppering would cure it !

I learnt early on in life that there were plenty of people out these willing to do you harm. Took up karate as a teenager and continued all my life. Gave me confidence, that and a common sense approach to risk.

There’s a public meeting about the recent issues taking place tonight at the Lost & Found, Ecclesall Road at 6pm.

I understand the Police will be taking questions/feedback and MPs/Councillors will be in attendance too.

Still unsure whether the family has been evicted, but people seem to think so.

Full report on the recent troubles in The Tribune today. Some quite shocking reading. Apparently the family have been moved from Sheffield now.

Here's a snippet of The Tribune's coverage:

"At a specially arranged community meeting at Lost and Found on Ecclesall Road on Wednesday evening, the room was packed. Around 100 people crammed onto seats in the bar area while at the front, several ashen-faced officials gathered: two police officers, two council officials and two councillors. They were left in no doubt about the community’s anger over what had been happening. Children spoke of being attacked on their way home from school, one of whom had hair ripped out of her head. A Chinese student said she had been racially abused by the children before being assaulted. Several business owners said they had to ban the Roma children from going into their shops after thefts.

"Most of the meeting was civil, but there were some uglier moments. At one point one of the officials present from Sheffield City Council was described as having a “smug face” and “no empathy”. There were also further allegations that police officers were practising “two tier policing” — preferential treatment for some ethnic groups over others — again refuted by the police. And worst of all, one man described the Roma family as “crap from one area which had been dumped on another”. The only person who challenged him was Chief Inspector Gareth Thomas. “You’re talking about a family,” he said."

Oh great, they’ve been removed from Sheffield so somebody else’s problem now. Why haven’t they been removed from the country?

Typical of the police inspector to stick up for them. The guy who made the accusation of two tier policing was right.
