999tigger   10 #133 Posted May 1, 2014 When a supermarket sells halal food it doesnt stop selling non-halal does it? Why do subway think theyve got to? Offer it as a choice, dont take the choice away.  Its a business decision. They think they can make more money that way as the benefit of offering both doesnt make as good a business case as offering just halal.  A supermarket will stop selling its least profitable items. barleycorn   10 #134 Posted May 1, 2014 What choice are the others making? Isnt retail about offering choice and a range?  They have a wide range of sandwich fillings available. That IS choice. They just don't sell bacon.  jb
 Share this content via...

barleycorn   10 #136 Posted May 1, 2014 As long as its clearly offered as what it is id have no problem either way.  But they don't offer it, so by your standards you should be outraged. Yet, for some reason, you aren't.  jb
 Share this content via...

skinz   10 #138 Posted May 1, 2014 What choice are the others making?  As a business their own, like you when you make a choice.  Isnt retail about offering choice and a range?  Yes, and they offer that, you don't have to accept it, you go elsewhere...as a choice. barleycorn   10 #139 Posted May 1, 2014 And i dont think i came across as outraged. This, sounded outraged to me. If not then what is it? What emotion are you trying to express? When a supermarket sells halal food it doesnt stop selling non-halal does it? Why do subway think theyve got to? Offer it as a choice, dont take the choice away.  jn
 Share this content via...

You seem to be making alot of assumptions here. Like i said, offer a choice and let us all know. Wheres the problem.
 Share this content via...
dosxuk   10 #141 Posted May 1, 2014 It is just the latest attempt by the minority to impose their beliefs and way of life on the majority.  A decision made by the bosses of Subway to allow franchises to offer a halal menu in 2007. Hardly latest, and hardly a minority imposing beliefs.  When a supermarket sells halal food it doesnt stop selling non-halal does it? Why do subway think theyve got to? Offer it as a choice, dont take the choice away.  They've not taken the choice away, they've added a choice. Nearly all, if not all, of the halal Subway outlets have been as such since they opened. They can't stop selling non-halal if they never have.
 Share this content via...
Bonzo77 Â Â 13 #142 Posted May 1, 2014 Perhaps Subway need to be more selective about who they dish out the franchises to. McDonalds wouldn't give a franchise to someone who wouldn't sell ketchup. Â Why wouldn't someone sell ketchup?!
 Share this content via...
skinz   10 #143 Posted May 1, 2014 If they offer the choice they please all sides, that makes more sense.  No they don't, I wouldn't eat there if you dragged me. As a choice maker I go elsewhere.  You never please everyone.
 Share this content via...
