old tup
I used to love Vesta meals in those days and one of my proudest achievements was making a table lamp out of a Matteas Rose bottle!.We certainly new how to be the height of sophistication or so we thought we were, and don,t forget beer at home with Davenports to wash it down with,I drank gallons of it the delivery bloke said I was his best customer!. carosio
I liked the curry, the beef risotto tasted a bit odd.

DeZeus
I used to also enjoy The Duo Cans, seem to remember the name Harveys?? Where you had to open both the ends, in the correct order of course, rice/sauce . Edited October 23, 2019 by DeZeus .

Hadron
I made a curry with 4 boxes on a camping trip in Derbyshire one November but I only had one pot on an open fire. I can't remember how I got round the sauce making. It was freezing outside by the time it was ready so it all went. Good stuff.

davyboy
Vesta chow mein and Vesta beef curry were the height of sophistication for us when my wife and I came home from work in 1962/3. Our first meal out (in 1960) when we got engaged was pork chinese style. Lord did I feel ill with those strange spices! How things have changed. My g/daughter and a friend have just splashed out £80 for their lunch. Edited October 24, 2019 by davyboy
