I was always at the bar in the wap never moved far had long black hair and always with a black leather bikers jacket on with deep purple on the back of it. I use to moan that I had to go to the bog when I was losing valuable drinking time by doing what you have to do, as for rebels same thing always stood at the bar in my favourite place pint of ale in front of me with at least 2 brandys at the side or whisky if i was that way out. but if someone bought me a beer then it would always be newcastle brown and drink out of the bottle dont do what the little boys did and pour it into a pint glass then drink it, I can remember going into the wap one saturday afternoon after coming out of the old nelson pub what is now the rock bar where the subway use to be on the moor and I had only been in the wap about 10 minutes with my newcastle bottle in my hand when 4 guys walked in all with long hair and jeans on and sneakers they came up to the bar and bought a beer then one of them asked about my bikers jacket and said have you ever seen the group deep purple, I said know not yet but i am hoping to get a ticket tonight to see them, here there's a ticket for you have it on us it was the group deep purple who had given me the ticket.

I was 12 years old and had gone to my aunties wedding where I sampled a pint of double diamond what my uncle had bought me told my grandma it was tizer, oh I can still taste it now 40 years on you never forget your first pint but it set me on the road to ruin when I turned 16 i was a full blown alcoholic by the time I was 18 years old and when I think back to the time I tried ale I wish I had never had it given to me.

melter you would be correct of the pub walk from swinton to mexborough we use to do it all the time when I did drink, but alas them days are over now mind you a lot of the pubs down there have changed quite a bit can you remember the 2 pubs just over the hump back bridge where they stood at the side of waddingtons boat yard well both of them are now night clubs and they dont open until friday & saturday nights. I have seen a few of the chaps who as been fighting finnish up in the drained canal still got water in it but not as deep as it use to be. one of my favourite pubs down in mexborough was the south yorkshireman also I have spent a few nights in the boy and barrel but I have spent a lot of nights in all the pubs down in mexborough as I use to impersonate tommy cooper complete with my fez, one of the pubs down there is called the falcon cant remember what they use to call it but me and about 10 mates was in there one friday night and they had got a group on well when I walked through the door and into the lounge with my fez on all the people thought it was tommy cooper coming in for a beer, to cut a long story short the group refused to play anymore until I had left as all the punters was watching me take tommy cooper off and even doing some tricks that even I got wrong there wasnt a dry eye in the pub when I left to go on a walkabout round all the other pubs in mexborough. oh happy days I even did a turn in the embassy night club and was paid in ale for all the laughter I had created oh how I wish I was still out with my old mates doing my tommy cooper thing.

Hi melter oh ' THE PATIOS ' I know that estate very well use to live on there for about 16 months well stayed at a friend of mine who lived on there before he moved to mexborough best thing he ever did when he left that estate. I have seen some bad things happen on the patios you had to watch your back when walking through it late at night which is what we had to do most nights but friday and saturday nights were the worse, never again will I ever go there again even the alley cats go round in pairs it is that bad.

I was setting up a darkroom for a friend of mine before his wife came back from being on hoilday to the united states, this will be a nice surprise for her as he has took part of the bedroom wall out so he as got excess in his darkroom and he as got running water in the darkroom where the plumber as put in some new pipes for him. I would love to be a fly on his wall when she comes home on wednesday she hasnt seen him since november last year. so thats where I was on saturday night late sunday afternoon working on his darkroom.

I live in aston cum aughton and it is a good place to live, they only problem we have got is when they turn out from the black bull pub from 23:00 up and till 03:00am and they start fighting or shouting and being very abusive also they use my garden as a toilet and we have seen couples in the green at the back of our house upto having sex need i go further on the sex part.swallownest use to be a brilliant place to live I havent been up there for a while not since they got somebody out of his house because they all thought he was a pedeafile if thats how you spell it. turned out they had got the wrong bloke mind you they did put all his windows through and tried to set fire to his house with them asleep inside.

hey up as anybody played the new commandos strike force game yet for the pc or ps2. I seem to be getting know where on the mission where you have to release your mates from the back of the trucks in front of the road block, how do you take the guards out in the time it allows you as it is a timed mission I have tried everything and still I get killed mission over. any help would be most helpful I am playing the pc one at the moment but the ps2 one is different as is most games what comes out on ps2 they dont follow the same path as the pc game.

I would say so do you want to know where the social security place is because thats where all the foreign people want to know first when they come here. then i would say if you have got any space dust I would like to buy some off you and get spaced out man crazy oh I am walking on the moon powerful stuff this you aliens use. and before anybody jumps down my throat about the social security it is a joke but it is true thats the first place they want to know where it is.

just got a LG u880 as I am now on pay monthly the phone came free it is a superb phone but I be grudge having to pay for extra downloads like new ringtones or games and they dont come cheap, if I had known it was going to be like this then I wouldnt have bothered I would have stuck to my nokia N70, but as my girlfriend as now got it she wont give it back to me. so I am have got stick with this one mind you for the first 6 months I only pay £22.00 then after it is £45.00 a month but you get 600 mins talk time 300 text messages 50 mins video talk time plus other things that I wont need and I am on 3 use to be 02, I have tried all the mobile sites but I do like 3's mobile site.

a daring thing I did was to cross from one railway coach to another and this was inside liverpool lime street station tunnel in the 1980's, also long before they started locking the doors on the train carriages like they do now.just think what could have happened if the train had suddenly started moving I might have been singing soprano now and hitting the top notes. but it had to be done as that train what was along side us was the train I needed to get to birmingham new street.

going back to my last reply on the above thread if anybody really wants to know what we went through, then just ask me and I will tell you via a pm or are you the kind of people who havent got the time for the homeless people in your eyes they are all drug addicts and alcoholics. mind you I use to say that a lot of the people who walk through the city in sheffield have all got blinkers on what horses wear, they never look at the side of them when homeless people are about and they just speed up and push them out of the way like they use to do to me and my girlfriend. you should try it one night in the winter and sleep out and see what happens but then you wouldnt want to leave your nice warm houses or beds. just think about the poor buggers who are the street living rough and having to ask for change for a hot drink. I will not get upset over this thread like I use to do when ever it was mentioned about people living on the streets. I will keep my cool and be calm over it like hell I will I have never kept my cool or be calm when it comes to the homeless people of sheffield there should be more done for them not just swept to one side. I better go before I really upset somebody but as I said try it and see how rough it can get and how cold it can be

I use to be in that position about 6 years ago and I had got my girlfriend with me we had to sleep rough ie on the streets in church yards on the canal bank even in shop doorways and why did we have to do it, because I had got family problems and my girlfriend was thrown out by her then husband or her ex if you look at it this way as we have been together for 6 years. when me and my girlfriend did it on the first night sleep out that is not the other we was found by a policewomen, a chap had reported seeing two bodies laid down by the canal and thought we was dead but we are stronger than that,all though on that night we was told we had slept out on the coldest night of the year and the tempreture had dropped to minus 18, this was clarified by the homeless section of the council we went to see about about us having a house we had to wait for 6 months and live on the streets not a nice thing to do and in the winter. funny though all the people I knew when I finnished up on the streets wouldnt help me or even talk to me, but now my life as changed and I did get a house when ever I see the people who wouldnt help me I know ignore them all though some of them as tried to talk to me but they soon backed off when I lashed out of them with my fist and my vile tongue. if I ever saw any of them in the street on fire I wouldnt go across and p*ss on them. what you all should do is listen to there story of how they have finnished up living on the streets and sleeping rough they are all not drug addicts. when ever I see them out on the streets and some of them was out when we was on the streets and they helped us I now give them money not a lot but enough for a hot drink and a hot sandwhich. you know that saying every person as got a story to tell well just LISTEN TO THEM. I could tell you what we had to go through but you wouldnt like it and on here is not the place to say it.

what about spangles or even five fruit polo's you dont see them anymore there is one thing you do see but with its name changed and thats marathon what is now snickers. what about the hazelnut bar what you could buy. my favourite grub is pigs trotters and black pudding also bread and dripping covered in salt, when I was a kid I use to love fussels milk spread on thick bread or even the small hovis loafs what you could buy as a kid. can you still get beechnut chewing gum or as that now gone, I use to get bags and bags of rainbow crystals and always buy them big sherbert lollies to dip it into the bag. I also use to eat a few of the fry's chocolate cream bars and the texan bars as well its know wonder I had problems with my teeth the last time I went to the dentist he said to me your teeth is alright your gums have got to come out lol.

Hi damkina if only I had got photos of all my aunties and uncles then it would be brilliant but as I am the last one on my dads side and my mums come to that as I havent seen my proper mum for 42 years she lefted me when I was 10 years old and I havent seen her since, it would be nice to see her after all this time but I dont think that is going to happen, as for the photos I have got one of my mum but it is that faded you can only just make her out. I havent got any photos of my dad only my grandma & grandad and my younger brother when he was just 8 years old he went with my sister to live with my mum so all in all I havent seen my mum or my brother or my sister for a very long time, and it upsets me knowing that I never saw my brother or sister grow up and how they have turned out and what they are doing now with there lifes. if I go and see my aunty doreen it could bring back some very bad times what I went through when my mum left me, my aunty doreen and uncle george was the only ones that would look after me until my grandma & grandad decided to look after me. so as I said photos would have been nice but not possible, my dads girlfriend was the last one to have any of them and I would think that she as burnt them so I cant have them. she was very spiteful with me and she hated me but if I could just meet her one day then she would see what a nice person I am or not to her because I would really have a go at her for what she as done to me. so there you have it

hi damkina I will send you a pm with my aunty doreens address on it if you have got it,as for going to see her it might be a shock to her system as I have changed a lot and in a big way at that I have now got long black hair which is right down my back the last time she saw me was when I had very very short hair and I was married then. she once told me not to get married to a older women but did I listen like hell I did oh how I wished I had listened to my aunty my ex wife did me out of £75.000 but thats another story. what I might have to do is send her a new photo of all my new family now so she can see who it was that wrote to her, as I used my new surname and not my old surname so she might have thought it was a crank letter. anyway I will pm you with the address

Hi damkina yes george is the brother of Ilene neils but my uncle george died last year just before september I think and steven fuzzy holford lost his dad in november who was my uncle jack. I havent seen either of them for a about 3years or it could be just a bit longer so you can imagine how upset I was when I found out that they both had died and I didnt get to talk to them one last time. I sent my aunty doreen a letter last year telling her that I had changed my name and that I have now got a 3 year old son, but I havent heard anything from her or even our kim thats doreen & georges daughter the oldest one they had also got leslie and claire but not heard from them for a long time. I am going to try and get down to the reunion in october but I shall be living in scotland then as I am hoping to move up there in august.

I havent seen fussels milk what you could in tins I use to love spreading that on hot toast. what about the man on the moon chewing gum from 1969 also you dont see the bay city rollers now or the streets full of punks with the hair all stuck up or what about space hoppers.also what about that song mouldy old dough by lieutenant pigeon or even chirpy chirpy cheep cheep by the middle of the road.all things that are gone but not forgotten

I have just picked up a hobbing foot from an old chap he use to be a cobbler but now retired it as been passed from generation to generation know body in the family wanted it so he gave it to me.

oh yes you do see snake belts even now because my young son as got one we got it in rotherham market.

I was thinking to myself this afternoon sunday will be here again soon and I have got to spend my sunday in the kitchen cooking sunday lunch, I do this every sunday even at christmas I have never had my sunday lunch cooked for me does anybody else have to do it or does there good lady wife or husband or even boyfriend cook there lunch for them. mind you I have just thought I cook most of our meals anyway as my girlfriend isnt very good in the kitchen not when it comes to coooking anyway. we must of got the only wheelie bin in our street that suffers with ulcers due to my girlfriends cooking, dont get me wrong she cooks like the devil only every meal is a burnt offering. you can tell she is not use to the kitchen I put the house keeping money at the back of the washing up liquid and she can never find it.

I am up every morning at 04:30am I spend 2 hours on my pc checking my emails and replying to them, I then do some more work like checking my list for the up and coming photos that are needed, I have breakfast at about 07:00am cant eat when I first get up got to be at least 2 hours before I have breakfast or even longer. I go to bed when I am ready I have been known not to go to bed if I have got a lot to do but thats if I am really busy.

I use to work in the old west gun shop on the heat treatment we use to do all the big pipes in there, one of the furnaces what was in the gun works was in the floor you had to get the lift to go to the bottom of it because it was that deep. that overhead crane what was in there was one of the highest when i worked in there for a while they had to use a walkie talkie to tell the crane driver all the instructions when he was lifting the hot pipes out out of the furnace and when to put it in the oil tanks, the slingers couldnt shout up to him because he was too high up. the oil tanks in the west gun shop was very deep in the shut down weeks when the firm was on there summer holidays it could take a gang of men all week to clean the oil tanks out and I think it took 3 days to fill them with oil. I had some happy times when I worked in there.

I am over 17 stones in weight and I am proud of it I got my weight from all the heavy drinking I use to do, as for going to the gym too much like hard work for me I do enough hard work with out wasting my money on something that doesnt work, all them people who do go to the gym have to go for a very long time to see any results. I am happy with my very round figure thank you very much plus my other problem with my weight is the amount of tablets I have to take my time will come to lose all my weight and that will be when I am in my coffin and going into the crem. whats up with you people dont you like to see fat people walking around they have got as much right as the next person if they want to be fat then so be it. if they want to be slim then so be it every person is different we are all not the same some people are fat and some people are slim thats how things are in this life. if anybody ever called me a fat b**tard to my face they might not like the idea of them walking around with a broken nose because thats is what I would do so back off from us heavy people you stay slim we will stay fat ok.

I would just like to say thanks to all the forum members who have helped me through the ups and downs of going into rehab and to know that when I came back, I was welcomed with open arms I would also like to thank redrobbo for taking me out to do my sunrises and sunsets and to john who has been a very great help to me, also I cant forget owdlad and albatross for they have been through this with me always there when things when wrong, my greatest admiration is to redrobbo he is a very wise friend to know and to be out in all that country air even if he did help the rangers to pick up the litter what was around ladybower dam could have ruined mine and johns photo shots what we was doing.so thank you to everybody for being honest with me and giving me some good solid feed back. by god this pint of spitfire is going down well? lol.
