  1. it must have really changed up on lowedges since I lived there mind you I havent been up there for over 20 years. the year I moved up there was 1959 and went to lowedges infants in the same year I left lowedges in 1979 and have never been back, so they have started using firearms up there now what is it the new united states of england all weapons must be carried at all times for your own safety oh and you can have shooting practice at policemen what is this country coming too. I think it is time for the gangs to reappear and sort lowedges out once and for all before a bloody murder happens, if it is only air rifles that was used the next thing it will sawn off shotguns and every other firearm they can buy, I think the time as come for the law to be changed regarding the sale of firearm's nobody under the age of 25 should be able to buy a firearm, and if they try then get the police involved to check that they are old enough, but it wont come to that because anybody can now buy any firearm they want and if they cant buy it in sheffield then they will go to somewhere else to buy it. some stupid shop keeper will sell them just to make a killing out of them and the guns or what ever else they sell know questions asked.this country is getting like the USA everyday
  2. I shouldnt be reading this about dead birds and the shooting of them as I belong to the RSPB. the only time you have to report a dead bird is if it is a rare one or the numbers of the birds is on the face of being wiped out, and of cause if you find any dead swans or other water birds like ducks geese and so on then people in the authority should be told. but for your average garden birds like blackbirds and so forth then bin them. I once found a sea gull in our back garden quite dead it had been shot and it had got a ring on its leg so I had the job of taking the ring off by cutting its foot off and then sending the ring to london. to the natural history place where the bird had been logged on there data base, i got a reply back about 3 weeks later telling me thank you for sending the ring to them and they have now put the details on there data base of the dead bird. also if you do ever come across any sea gulls or other birds with rings on them that are dead take the ring off and flatten the ring out there is an address on the ring where you send it to tell them the details of where you found the bird and if had been shot or a cat as had it or it was hit by a car. you will get a reply back from them thanking you for sending it in to them.
  3. oh goody I can now look forward to decorating my christmas tree with them again so it look like I shall be going into the sex shop to stock up on them ready for christmas. nice one the cardinals for backing them
  4. I wear anything from eternity to boss to jean paul gauliter also D&C even some avon but it as got to be percieve oh and if it was still produced blue blazor by avon one of the best aftershaves I have ever used. but also it depends on what mood I am in my girlfriend as found out that some of my aftershaves is a warning sign to keep out of my way if things have gone wrong, as she says to our kids keep out of your dads way he his wearing one of the other aftershaves which is dont say a word to him. but i dont wear them aftershaves all that much the only time that I do wear them is when the mother in law pays us a visit, which just a lately is now every weekend.

  9. yipee stagecoach sheffield is go so how long before they take over the world I just cant wait to see what is going to happen in may with the bus changes what is supposed to be happening, lets hope they get rid of first because as it was pointed out to me in doncaster on thursday up at the garage first group is not for the buses but for the railways and it seems that they are quite happy to spend money on new trains than buy new buses, because these ex london buses what are here are over 12 years old thats all we seem to get in south yorkshire, other buses what are past there sell by date but yet the other bus company's they spend money on new buses, we have to use crap buses that should have been scrapped ages ago I for one will back stagecoach all the way they are the better company for running buses, lets just hope they do get rid of first group once and for all if it went to a vote to get them out then I would vote for stagecoach all the way. WELL DONE STAGECOACH
  10. I know a friend of mine and her daughter as got about 20 tattoos on her body she as got them on her arms on her legs on her back she as even got one on the inside of her thigh with an arrow pointing to the women secret place. she as got a dragon on her right leg she as even got mild and bitter tattooed on her boobs. her boyfriend is covered in tattoos he as even got his middle finger tattooed with the words tampax on it. if the tattoos are done right on a women then I like to see them I have photographed a lot of womens tattoos for the magazine skin, some look really weird but some look bloody amazing I think the best one that I have ever photographed was of the back of a women in london and it was the fox hunt she had even got the foxes tail disappearing up her backside it was tattooed on the inside of her right buttock.so if they look good then yes I like to see them on a women or a girl I would never stop my girlfriend from having a tattoo I have got one on the top of my arm and it as been there since I was 14 years old and this was done with indian ink and a needle with cotton thread tightly wrapped round the base of the needle with just the point showing.
  11. I have got some nicknames one is bigkev why well about 8 years ago I use to weigh 25 stone and being over 6 feet tall thats one nickname I got, i also had another nickname given to me and thats beer monster why well once I started drinking ale I never stopped I use to have barley wine on my cornflakes for breakfast as that was the only way I could keep them down. I use to have another nickname friends always use to call my tc after tommy cooper as I use to take him off and yes even some of my tricks went wrong.
  12. I have been to doncaster today and called on to the railway station to see some of my rail mates and one of them is a fitter who works for first in doncaster and he told us that there is a strike coming up and he also told us that they might be a bus fare rise in june they have got a meeting coming up about this strike so if I hear anything I will post details on the forum. I might get some information tomorrow as I am going up to the garage in rotherham and sheffield so i will ask them up there I should get something out of them.
  13. I will probably go and throw eggs at them because they are crap they are has beens.

  15. if you take to many then the option would be that you will finnish up in the A&E having your stomach pumped out, my youngest daughter when she was 22 she took I think it was about 14 of the paracetamols she passed out and we had to rush her to the hospital. so I would be very careful if I was you take over the stated dose and you could find yourself in trouble and we sure dont want to lose you on the forum.
  16. I am 100% and have been since the day we got together which will be 8 years now fell in love on valentines day got engaged on valentines day and hopefully getting married on valentines day in scotland and I will be wearing a kilt complete with either an iron maiden hooded top or a metallica one, my future wife will be wearing her wedding dress of what it will be I have know idea but she will be wearing her ozzy osbourne hooded top on as well. so yes I am in love with her and I have got to get married as I cant stop happy all my life.
  17. I like them but from past experiance I might keep away from them I had a mate who invited me and a few mates round for his B-B-Q as they was having a birthday party for his wife, only beer and barbies dont mix well they do but he was well blottoed when we got to the barbie he was also having trouble trying to get the barbie lit, so what did he use to light it not barbie lighter fuel but some old paraffin what he had found in his hut, oh yes it did light and so did his hut and he burnt his hand in the process so much so that he had to be rushed to the hospital. i also think that them small ones that you can buy are very dangerous epescially where young kids are around even them barbies that stand on legs can quite easy get knocked over with drunken fools who go to the barbies. I shall not be going to one this year and none of my family will be going I have told him that I have to think of the safety of my 3 year old son.
  18. I will never be friends with my ex and I dont think she will be friends with me not after what i did to her house when I moved out or her clothes. but I will never talk to her as she did me out of £75,000 and this had something to do with the lottery. she doesnt live in england anymore but lives out somewhere near canada oh she might be married to a brown bear because she has been married 9 times already. I wonder if her new husbands have found out what she is really like I will never know will I
  19. well well I knew george gilks he was a right chap to talk too I can see him now walking up from the maintenance dept. I use to go and have a pint with him every thursday he always made my day when i saw him and when I worked in the melting shop he would always come and sit with the rest of the lads and drink tea with us.
  20. I use to go to it when it was called jordanthorpe school, boys at the top girls at the bottom school and this was in 1965-1969. I can remember us nearly blowing up the sience lab with a experiment that went badly wrong, it took out 3 of the big windows and put a hole in the floor just your everyday experiments what we use to do. I can remember a mr gibbs he was one of the metal work teaches he built a cannon out of steel complete with a firing pin and we went out on to the school yard to try it out. we loaded it with a solid ball bearing about an inch in diamenter it went straight throught the wall and in to the gym and throught the back doors we never did find where the ball bearing went after that. I wonder if it as changed since I was there i bet I wont remember what it use to look like now.
  21. I use to go in the earl grey every friday lunch time straight from james neil tools as I use to work in the hot salt baths and your lips was that dry with the salt that you needed a few beers to bring the feeling back into them, I use to go in the jolly buffer as well and the wards house just below the buffer, the old pomona I use to go in when I was on nights at neil tools just to have a cold drink which more often than not was always newcastle brown ale straight from the fridge as I worked in the melting shop at neils as well. I have drank in all of the pubs around there and up on cemetrey road and I always went in the lansdown pub every saturday straight after work then do a pub crawl up in to town but always going into the hornblower, beehive, frog & parrott, the hallamshire, the saddle, then onto the le metro then down to the fat cat and then back into town to meet up with some mates and go around to the pubs I had missed from the lunch time. oh I wish I could do it again I was very happy when I was drunk all the time some of my mates werent that happy with me though as they could never keep up with me, by the time they had just took the top off there ale I had supped my pint and was always going for another one. but alas I have had to stop drinking for good otherwise I would have been dead now but I sure do miss going drinking down to the old pubs like the pomona.
  22. there is only place to go and live and that is in scotland and any where in scotland the people are really brilliant and they make you most welcome when you are up there, cant say a lot about sheffield though even if it is my home city mind you it was different in the 60's & the 70's people who you knew would talk to you but now in 2006 the people I know wont even pass the time of day with me or my family. so thats why we are going to live in scotland to get away from old friends and family so if anything does go wrong in the family I will be well out of the way so they cant sort it out for themselfs instead of relying on me all the time to sort out there mess in sheffied.
  23. yes it as a few years ago though
  24. go to whitby one of the best places to go and you could always catch a train to grosmont and then do the NORTH YORKSHIRE MOORS RAILWAY to goathland where they film heartbeat go and have a look at that place, this is one place to see you never know they might even be filming out there for the new series of heartbeat. if you do go to whitby then for your lunch might I suggest going into the magpies cafe you will not go wrong having your lunch in there or you could eat out at goathland there is some brilliant eating places out there. if you ant to visit some of the pubs in whitby then you have got the dolphin which is near the swing bridge, then there is the duke of york where I believe you can still get a real ale called whitby black dog just dont drink a lot of it as it is quite strong.you could always go in the tut & shive in whitby and listen to some loud heavy rock music and sample some of there real ales. and if you feel like doing some excerise then you could always walk the 199 steps upto whitby abbey and smell the smoked kippers on your way to the top, but the best part of it is seeing the view from the top it is out of this world, you might be thinking to yourself how do I know so much about whitby well I have got a fishermans cottage out at whitby and it was built in 1805 and I spent 3 years living in whitby thats why I know so much about the place. so go to WHITBY
  25. shoeshine can you ever remember the flying scotsman making a stop at woodhouse station I am going back to 1972 it had been on a rail tour and was going back to sheffield midland but for some reason it stopped at woodhouse station also because it had got a load 16 on thats the coaches it was away out of the platforms and as I was stood on the side road what took you down to the iron bridge and on to woodhouse mill, the scotsman was towering above you but the funny thing about this was we all had a bonus because coming down the other track going towards kiveton was the evening star on a load 14 and the coaches was in the cholocate and cream stock. my dad and my uncle was jumping for joy mind you so was I when the evening star blew his whistle, this is the only time I have ever seen two steam engines at woodhouse and on stock. my childhood was a mixed one as my dad was into railways and he use to paint them in oils and watercolours, he tried is upmost to get me off the railways and in to a new hobby but he failed as I had a uncle who worked at doncaster station as a driver a top link one at that so when ever the school holidays was here I was shipped off to my aunty and uncle who lived in doncaster and spent most of my time on the station waiting for my uncle to arrive with his loco and stock and going onto the footplate for a cab ride to york and back. I have even been down to london on the footplate what a thrill that was so I think the railways are in my blood.
