  1. A vital win there with five of the top six winning. An ideal time for Ched to enter the fray ... I hope.
  2. A terrific steal at the death by the Blades. 27 shots to their 4 finally paying off.
  3. no it's 3-2 to the Blades An unlikely comeback.
  4. 52 minutes 1-0 Andy Butler with a header from a corner the crowd is 7,929 now 1-1 57 minutes
  5. He was on my list earlier this year
  6. Ched, Billy, Greg Halford, Coady and John Brayford What a squad we would have then.

  8. The previous run of six clean sheets in a row (league matches) (2012-13) Bury A 2-0 12/2/13 Colchester H 3-0 16/2/13 Bournemouth A 1-0 23/2/13 Orient H 0-0 26/2/13 Oldham A 2-0 2/3/13 MK Dons H 0-0 9/3/13 And for older Blades fans like myself, many will remember this sequence well. If my memory serves me well, the kop were singing 'all we are saying is give us a goal ' v Millwall late on when Trevor Hockey scored. I think the other was an O.G. I know it was a Tuesday night match at Easter (hence the consecutive dates) Seven consecutive clean sheets (league games) (1970-71) Blackburn H 5-0 20/3/71 Bristol City A 1-0 27/3/71 Norwich H 0-0 3/4/71 Leicester A 0-0 10/4/71 Wednesday A 0-0 12/4/71 Millwall H 2-0 13/4/71 Birmingham H 3-0 17/4/71
  9. Jamie Murphy (or rather Motherwell) was a pointless answer in round two tonight on the quiz show. Contestants had to name the clubs that twelve strikers were playing for at the beginning of 2012-13.
  10. How many more years are we going to be languishing in this division. Don't know about 'go large' verb - To enjoy oneself to the maximum.
  11. One shot (McMahon) in 45 minutes by United. Meanwhile former Blades Billy Sharp & Jamie Ward have both scored on 32 minutes. ---------- Post added 14-12-2013 at 16:28 ---------- A breakthrough with a header by Jose Baxter 67 minutes 1-0
  12. going up? ..... the table 18,545 there today.
  13. Nothing was happening so just made myself a cup of tea.. came back to the computer and we've scored. Can the Blades hold on this time for a crucial win.
  14. I've suspected for a while that the players are deliberately underperforming. I'm pretty certain now I was right. See my post from September 25th just before the Wolves match below
  15. Just going back to 75-76, it was a big shock as older fans like myself will know. The previous season was the best I can remember. If we hadn't lost twice to Derby, the Blades would have been League champions instead. Around Easter time 1975, I thought we might just do it but an unlucky defeat at Highbury (the only time I've been there) and a draw at home to Leeds put paid to that dream. Still a fantastic season though with Currie in irresistible form at times. Amazing that the first game of 75/76 would be against Derby of all teams.
  16. Seven in 1975-76 .... I remember it all too well. http://www.statto.com/football/teams/sheffield-united/1975-1976/results This was at a much higher level of course in the old First Division. The horrendous run of defeats was 18 out of 22 leading up to Christmas.
  17. Blades are now bottom of League 1 now below Notts County.
