  1. When that time came when either your Dad influenced you or your own preference for a team happened, you never realised what an emotional roller coaster you were about to embark on.
  2. As a youngster, there was an old chap lived in the same yard, he must have been well over 80. He knew that me and my dad were Unitedite's as he had been. He fascinated me with tales of Bill Foulke, Nudger Needham, Billy Gillespie and others and how he had watched the return of the lads in the photo.
  3. if Kelvin's gone, I might start posting again on the football section. But I don't believe he has gone, somebody has found out who he really is and where he lives and has currently got him kidnapped in the players dressing room at Bramall Lane. When he's redecorated the room he will be released.
  4. Where have you got that from ? Being heavily involved with both Greenhill Library and the Library in the cafe where the 76 bus terminus is, I know for a fact that 99.9% of folks on that estate are aware of the existence of those 2 libraries !! Where was it reported that a stash of guns was found ?
  5. Good morning crookesey. I pass the Woodseats Police Station regular. On almost every occasion at different times of the day the car park is full of police cars. What I wonder are they doing in there. The streets in the area they cover are certainly devoid of police presence !
  6. Definetly not Mistakes have been made in the past with verdicts I have a pal in prison convicted for a murder he didn't commit. He could have been hung !
  7. Hi folks and thanks for your replies I aint getting a tandem !
  8. Have you bought any, plenty advertised on e bay, but undecided whether they will fit, no dimensions given. An attempt to get my wife riding a bike. Without stabilisers she's great at falling off Watch out in the Spring if you are riding on the Monsal Trail !
  9. Hi Alex, some evidence please before you know who steps in!
  10. Wonder who these supporters are in this time of economic depression. A lot of those Leeds supporters would have driven down and had to fill their tank again before returning home.
  11. Just watched Plymouth v Leeds, a game played in atrocious weather. A large support for Leeds How far from Leeds to Plymouth, must be 300 miles What time did they set off and what time will they get home Dedication or what ! Must cost Newcastle fans some cash when they play some away games.
  12. Hey up RollingJ, Couldn't agree more. I've stopped looking at that section!
  13. I have been on this Forum since 2004 and enjoyed mostly the football section which has now well and truly gone down the toilet because of some of the individuals on there. But it's all about Free Speech and the Mods seem prepared to tolerate the rubbish spouted on there !
  14. Amazing, you are capable of posting something sensible !
  15. It's all about having someone who owns the club splashing the cash. Both clubs have only had large gates in a few seasons, hence the money coming in through the gates has never been a large amount. Look at Man Utd and size of their gates, other clubs also. Both Sheffield clubs over the years have had board members who have been very cautious with spending
  16. Good morning johnpm. I reckon Keith must be in his late 80's. Retired and living in Hastings. The sort of bloke you need to meet on your way through life.
  17. Good post cuttsie, agree with all you have said. Tell thi sumat else, this football section is crap when it shouldn't be and we all know why !
  18. Liverpool manager has announced he is leaving the club at the end of this season. 1st item on the news at lunch time today. Is it that important to be given preference over what is happening in the world today ? I personally don't think so, but I am aware the usual crazy crew on this forum will think different. As always and you will remain nameless, I look forward with great expectations for your replies !
  19. Fond memories of Brunswick Trinity youth club in the 60's !
  20. I'm 77 so can sit back and watch 1000's get killed. The situation the world is in does worry me because there is more than a chance we will have a world war in the not too distant future. I have grandchildren as many of you do, they are my main concern, especially my eldest grandchild, currently 20.
  21. In 1976 I went to a hotel in Manchester for an interview with a communications company in Alberta, Canada. I didn't take the job and why, because on the way home on the train through the Hope Valley where the setting sun on an Autumn day covered those hills in some fantastic colours, I thought I don't want to leave this scenery even though Canada would have offered me something similar. Life could have been so different, do I regret my decision, NO, life here in Sheffield has been more than good to me.
  22. A polite answer I I don't wish to tell you, but thanks for asking !
  23. Hi St Petre and thanks. Hoping someone comes up with his secondary school.
