  1. I'm starting to think I'll not bother with this forum anymore as most topics seem to end up in an argument or people trading insults. 😏
  2. Yes, I'd recommend PA Jewellers as well. Haven't been to them for some time but when I did they were very good and reasonably priced.
  3. So nice to have some good news. Best wishes to you both for a bright and happy future 😁
  4. I remember the boat race and the Star Walk. For weeks after all the kids used to do the Star Walk 'walk'. Didn't take much to amuse us in those days 😁
  5. The Great Smog (episode 1) on channel 5. It was really interesting and very sad that so many people died in awful circumstances and the government of the day did nothing. Unfortunately episode 2 was cancelled. I hope they put it on at a later date
  6. All the press coverage must be awful for her family. My mum died recently and I can't imagine what it would have been like if everyone was discussing her.
  7. It's certainly not francy. Although strangely I can remember my NI number and my 11 digit student reference number from the late 1960's. There's hope for me yet.
  8. Yes I must say I tend to agree with you. I used to be able to remember all my friends and families phone numbers. No need any more as they're all on my mobile. I can't even remember my own number now! I've always like doing crossword and puzzles. Part of the fun was trawling through a dictionary or encyclopedia to find an answer. Now I just google it. I do worry about my brain 🤯
  9. I've been wondering the same thing. Nieces and nephews have all got really well paid jobs and it seems a bit silly me struggling to buy them things they could easily afford to buy themselves. I just don't know how to broach the subject. 🤔
  10. Yes but at least they've got their own teeth 🐸
  11. There is no added fluoride in our water supply. My dentist seems very keen to prescribe it to most of her patients. She says the cost to the NHS outweighs the cost of future treatment. I certainly haven't had any problems with it and will carry on using it for as long as I can. I would say if you can get it, go for it
  12. Both me and my o/h use duraphat toothpaste which we get on prescription from the dentist. Can't say whether it works but we've not needed any treatment for years. 😁
  13. That's very kind of you Daddy. Hope Padders is soon on the mend.
  14. Recorded Shetland and watched it last night. Poor Tosh, hope she's ok but it didn't look good. Can't wait for next episode.
  15. Was it British Aitcheson (later Union Carbide) or maybe the brewery?
  16. Best wishes Leo. My husband has been under the care of Weston Park Hospital for many years. They are second to none and we feel incredibly lucky that whatever happens they never give up on him. You sound as though you're going into it with a positive attitude and I think that makes a lot of difference.
  17. Pat, I've just watched episode 3 and it was really exciting. There were ants in the bin but Sean Bean sprang into action and killed them all with boiling water. Then he got his coin stuck in the gyms changing room locker. Fortunately he got it back. His wife couldn't remember where she'd put her jacket but then she found it. Oh and Sean bought himself a bread maker. Can't wait for tomorrow's installment. Perhaps he'll buy a toaster. Hope that answers your question Pat 🤣
  18. I also found it really slow but as there was nothing else on I watched episode 2 on I player. It doesn't really get much better I'm afraid to say. Such a shame, I had high hopes of it being a good drama with those two in it.
  19. Picture Book Andy Pandy Rag Tag and Bobtail Bill and Ben Woodentops Sooty Huckleberry Hound Yogi Bear
  20. I've no interest in football whatsoever and didn't watch the match but I was really pleased that England won. It's just so nice to see some happy news instead of all the bad depressing stuff that's going on in the world. Well done to our team.
  21. My neighbour regularly stands looking out onto his back garden completely naked. Unfortunately it overlooks my living room. It's not a pretty sight either. Reminds me of a car crash, you don't want to look but can't help it. Then you wish you hadn't.
  22. Looks like one's fallen off the perch but it's been recovered and put back on the stonework behind the box.
