  1. I am quite aware Mint is a version of Linux, plus MacOS is a kinda Bespoke Linux they Mac have created. I had a friend who was a Mac specialist , who made Mac Clones on Intel mobos which seemed to transfer files fine between different platforms? I personally would try by using a Mac formatted Hdd or Zip Drive 100/250Mb or Flash Drive to transfer the files manually. I may be selling some later after formatting these.
  2. Warning Text Scam: You get a Text from: "Royal Mail" (no logo) 'Your Package could not be delivered because you were not in. (I was in? 3. I believe there is a case for bringing back 'The Scout. Post' which was good for getting your card delivered locally, or national in a few days. It Not only got the scouts out in the fresh air getting exercise delivering your cards, it also was a good fund raiser for the 'Scout Movement ', being cheaper than the Royal Mail. Also when You or Companies send emails instead of a Letter, the cost is negligible (small) in comparison to the Royal Mail or Other letter carriers like TNT! Hermes etc. The decline in the use of Letters has accelerated because the cheaper option of emails being available?
  4. I think you have summed it beautifully! I have stuff from my parents, uncles, In-laws etc, my dad was a certain clutter bug, this item might come in useful for a repair! Where I seem to have inherited that trait, I have started to let go, only this week I binned a Laser Printer it was painful to let it go...as it's just things..
  5. I'm confused as most people move with removal men, taking their current contents to new address however, If your discourged from paying to dispose of your items, you could advertise them on the Free section of SF?
  6. Warning: Some Contracts May not allow you to use your handset as an Internet Hub Point, but some people rarely read or take any notice of Contracts or Agreements. An alternative solution would be to buy yourself broadband Dongle with either a monthly contract or PAYG, I believe EE are currently selling them.
  7. You could then give us some clue of the roads travelled on?

  14. In my experience, but I stand to be corrected on this, there were different ISO's available with differing download areas, plus differing product Keys for the free upgrading route or the (pro to pro - like for like route) plus you could also download one ISO for both 32bit plus 64bit versions? Or go the USB Stick route. I confess I've not downloaded any of the more recent versions within the last month.

  17. Interesting Scam, First you get a text from an unknown 5 digit number saying new Netflix number Next day you get a notification Netflix were unable to get their Last months Payment and your access would be denied to their services? All quite plausible (designed to get you worried) Seemed less plausible as I was Watching Netflix at the time! lower in the Text was a web-link to connect to (the scammers bank I'm sure) Asking for updated details Which I certainly will not be filling in, I was thinking of Cancelling anyway! nice try I thought....Be Alert..
  18. I think the Best solution would be to Start using Expanding Sisal STRING Bags, like we used to Have, I might start making them for a reasonable Price like £9. 50 each I'm sure they are made like Macrame...
  19. Just had the weirdest voicemail telephone call, claiming that I had defrauded the HMRC, click one to Talk to an adviser, I just......Laughed Surely they would have sent me a letter? First.... 21. Maybe someOne with lots of time currently on their hands with the right skills or expertise in Java or C or jScript programming, could make a program or app which would easily expose the vile scammers efforts via email, sadly I don't have this experience. I'm sure it would be welcomed by the less technically knowledgeable in our community, they might even pay for it!

  23. It might be dependant on the size of Ram on your iPad4, which I'm sure would be bigger on an iMac. Or the site was just busy, with everyone ordering at the same time.
