  4. What lovely memories. I lived in a two up, two down cottage in Handsworth. Dr O'Flyn was our doctor and my aunty and uncle lived on the triangle estate . The houses had a … BATHROOM, a luxury to my mum's way of thinking.. I remember the chipshop. Used to walk down Handsworth hill to it.
  5. As Joo Joo says, ''Nothing ventured. Nothing gained.'' After a wonderful long, happy marriage, I remarried. I don't assume everyone is alone because they have lost the love of their life, some may never had married, but life goes on. If one can't give their heart again, give time. If you DO, let's hear about it. My very best to you .
  6. Hello everyone. I lived in North Anston until three years ago. Was there for some years and remember the coaches , in particular the Wigmore coaches. Many a winter morning, when the X five bus to Sheffield didn't turn up have I, and most of the queue, hot footed it on Falcon Way to catch''Wiggies,'' and I too remember the lady bus conductors. I'm not an Xpat, but I am away from the environment I knew for such a long time. Dear North Anston. Dinnington, Such memories .Thank you.

  10. I remember well. I was given my first piece of chewing gum and walked around the fair feeling very much part of the '''in crowd,'' and I swallowed it. Spoilt my night.
  11. Joseph Rodgers. Their slogan,..... the knife of kings, and the king of knives. I too worked there.
  12. It's good to talk/chat, but ''hands on'' works best if it seems a problem has to be solved.
  13. It is being suggested that women are safe with women......................... not always so.
  14. Yes indeed Harry. The kind humanitarian from Samaria........
  15. Take all with an open mind. Put your trust in the Lord, and keep your bowels open, sort of thing.
  16. No turning the other cheek then on this thread? It was quite obvious what my disadvantage was in my schooldays, verbal bullying can be just as painful as physical violence, but I learned a lesson, and would not have had my experiences any different.
  17. Take what is on offer. In my experience it's easier to find work if one is in work.
  18. I take it El Cid, you feel quite comfortable airing your friend's personal finances on the forum?
