So this year we have five players from Wales, three from Leicester, three from Essex, and two from Bristol. Can’t we play snooker in Sheffield, and when did we last have a Yorkshireman to cheer on? The last I remember was poor Paul Hunter but I stand to be corrected.

Joe Johnson was a Yorkshireman, he won the world title in 1986.

Shaun Murphy lived here for a bit but he is from Northamptonshire, and now lives in Dublin.

Its all felt a bit flat so far this year, not sure why.

It seems we had a Yorkshireman at the Crucible last year, David Grace from Bradford. Can’t say as I remember him.
