He was also trying to make sure that any strikers still got full pay. He also denied giving millions to the Labour party. When pressed how much it actually was he said "£3 million". Such as bringing in unskilled assistants with little training, de-recognition of trades unions, de-skilling of existing staff, demotion of existing staff, etc.? You should support them otherwise next time you are having a heart attack they might not be able to respond. On the other hand you will have a range of private providers to choose from. Only they'll be rubbish and won't get to you in time. I think it would be great to have a better ambulance service. You would have to be mad not to want that. The only problem is how to pay for it. Set up private ambulance services, and make dinosaurs like McCluskey homeless and destitute. There's no way they'd be able to compete in the real world where you actually have to be good at your job just to get by. Unions are a good thing (I belong to one), but its also true a lot of them (including mine) do have extremists from the left wing involved who have their own agenda and are quite influential on policy. In her own words, more interested in putting people from Africa on the front covers of their brochures, and having nice glass offices in London, than they are about helping WWC people that they were set up to represent.
