  1. Hi Murf, If this situation is getting desperate now would it be worth contacting Mosborough kennels/cattery to see if they could provide a place for them to stay whilst looking for a new home. I would donate a £1 per day towards their keep if others would also chip in. Gingers on here is a good contact with the staff there.
  2. I will give you a couple of pounds for these if still available. Looks like you are at Frechville so my Partner could probably collect on way home tonight however Helen is first in line so if she wants them no problem.
  3. Powerage, have a look at Apollo at Sheffield Dog Rescue, Mosborough. I am sorry I don't know how to add links on here. They have some lovely dogs up there, Shadow the Border Collie (my current favourite) has just found a new home. You can take them for a walk and spend sometime with them. ---------- Post added 14-06-2013 at 10:28 ---------- SamMT, I bumped into Julie from Thornberry Animal Sanctuary this morning and she told me they have a lovely youngish Cocker Spaniel in at the moment.
  4. Good suggestion Gingers. I walked Alfie, the little Jack Russell at Sheffield Dog Rescue for the first time last Sunday. He is a happy friendly waggy tailed boy who was fine with other dogs. You can visit the rescue between 10am and 3pm 7 days a week and the staff are happy for you to take him for a walk and get to know him.
  5. Oh my goodness, any staffy lovers out there take a look at Popeye on the Thornberry Animal Sanctuary web page!! Who can resist??
  6. Please have a look at Sheffield Dog Rescue, they are based near you at Mosborough. They have a lovely selection of dogs in (14) at the moment including a fabulous Border Collie. You can visit any day and walk the dogs to get to know them a bit.
  7. Thanks for replies so far. Gnomi, I have put your Mans details in my diary. Murf, give me a wave next time you see me.
  8. I have been running my dog walking and pet sitting business for nearly 5 years now. Unfortunately customers circumstances change all the time and I currently have a bit of spare time if anyone is needing a walker whilst they are at work etc. Due to the cost of petrol I just cover the S20, S21 and S12 area. I also do cat and small animal feeding for people away on holiday. Please see my website for further information. I do receive enquiries from prospective customers out of my area so if any dog walkers/pet sitters wish to pm or email me your details I can hopefully refer you on.
  9. Sheffield Dog Rescue (based at Mosborough boarding kennels) have some wonderful dogs in. I have a giggle at Jets photo on the website but she is a gorgeous dog. I have been walking Shadow recently. He is a young very handsome Border Collie, anyone who has the time and energy for him will be getting a wonderful companion. Please consider this rescue if you are looking to take on a new doggie at the moment or if you can lend a hand with some voluntary walking.
  10. I would like to be included too please. My rusty old brain could do with refreshing and it would be nice to meet some of the forummers, however would have to be a weekend for me.

Unfortunately we already have four male cats and his arrival has caused some tension and stress/spraying from them. Our dog discovered him cold and hungry, hidden in some brambles. After enquiring at the farm some distance away we were told he was probably from the farm cat left to wander and breed. One of his siblings had been killed the day before by a dog so we felt we needed to take him home. He has done nothing wrong but two of our other cats are really unhappy with his arrival. He needs to go to a home with another young cat/kitten to interact with. He is more confident when with another cat as he is still a bit shy with us. He is in excellent health and has a good appetite.
  12. Hi Bradshz, I have been running my dog walking and pet sitting servive for over 4 years now and live at Waterthorpe so cover your area. Please take a look at my website and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
  13. I'm supporting Rain Rescue, hope it helps guys.
  14. Collies and collie crosses are my favourite too. Have a look at http://www.wiccaweys.co.uk, they always have some beauties in. I really wish we could have another..........
  15. This is a horrific experience for your puppy and yourself and I'm sure all the forummers have their fingers crossed that the injuries are not as severe as originally feared. But if amputation is advised please do not be put off. My last dog Bubu had 3 legs (after an rta with his previous owner). He was 3 legged for nearly 9 years enjoying long daily walks and runs, in fact until we lost him from old age he only ever needed a dental!! I'm sure many other owners who have experience of 3 leggitys will have enjoyed a happy and healthy life together.
  16. Dear LittleMermaid, I am very sorry to read your sad story about April. In September 2010 our 9 year old cat Jessica (ex cat shelter cat) started showing signs of illness and unfortunately went down hill very quickly. We knew when the time was right and sent her to Rainbow Bridge the following month. She had wet FIP, although it seemed to take the vets some time to confirm this!!! My reason for this post is that we have 4 other cats, 1 is nearly 19 years old and the youngest at 8 years is another ex cat shelter cat who was a very sickly kitten (having had ringworm) and they are all happy and healthy having lived with Jessica for years. We were very worried for sometime that we may lose them all. RIP April.
  17. We have had a little family collection and have sent them £120. We got our last dog and our current dog from there so they have a special place in my heart.
  18. Hi Felix24...I don't know if my services would be of any use. I am a professional dog walker in the S20 area, maybe you could gently recommend the idea to your client. If only a couple of times a week it may be of some comfort to the lady and the dog to have a good walk. Jacky
  19. Me again. Yes my Friends Mum is interested in Felix. Is there a telephone number for Magsie or someone from Rain Rescue that she may ring to find out more about him and where they go from here please.
  20. I have told my friend about Felix as I think she was too late for Nugget. We'll get in touch with Maggie if he would be suitable. She may prefer an older puss thats all. Fingers and paws crossed for the little lad.
  21. Hi, I have pm'd Magsie but just wondering if anyone knows if lovely Nugget is still looking for his forever home. I have been in touch with a friend who is expressing interest in him.
  22. Can I be the first peson to come on and say "WELL DONE and GOOD LUCK".
  23. I walked Patch yesterday (as a volunteer). He is a dalmation X and went into rescue only because of sad family problems. He is a lovely boy, I understand there was a potential new owner choosing between him or another male dog there. They currently have 13 dogs looking for a forever home so please give them a visit if you can help (10am - 3pm daily). The kennels are on Quarry Hill at Mosborough.
  24. Hi Pink Fairy, In 1997 I adopted my beloved Bubu collie x dog from Thornberry, he had 3 legs due to a rta whilst with his previous owner. During the following 9 years (nearly) that we were together we walked miles, he could still run at great speed when he wanted too and many people stopped to chat to me as they were touched to see him managing so well with only one back leg. It was only for the last few months of his life back in 2006 that he really slowed down. Hope you have a long and happy life together with your 3 leggity!
  25. I have met Boomer a few times recently and he was a lovely big booming sweetheart much loved by his Mum, Dad, doggie sister and four feline members of the family. Rest in peace big beautiful boy. I will miss your slobbery chops! x
