  1. Don't know why, but this came from nowhere I could ascertain and I couldn't get it out of my head all day. Inexplicable. Needed to youtube it to exorcise the earworm.
  2. In your household, maybe. The parents I know well just aren't like that.
  3. Perhaps just to be controversial, but A. N. Wilson speaking on Times Radio this morning said he thought 16/17 year-olds should be given the vote but it should be taken away from those over 70.
  4. Beat me to it. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/jacob-rees-mogg-admits-tory-voter-id-law-was-gerrymandering_uk_64620db8e4b03e16f1a45050
  5. Can you ask for a viewing on a Friday or Saturday night when West Street is probably at it's noisiest?
  6. There's a buyer's fee too I understand, so they'll be paying a percentage on top of the hammer price.
  7. Perhaps it's time to repost the link: https://peregrine.group.shef.ac.uk/

  9. Yes indeed. When I relocated last year I had to recycle three drawers of those free floppies. I don't miss them, or the chirping.
  10. Not for the first time, Delbow. Tap "leathering" into the Search function and you'll see the lad has considerable form.

  12. Ah! I thought a relative could bring a defamation case if their own reputation was somehow linked and damaged by association.
  13. His wealthy and extremely influencial family can though.
  14. There are always going to be anomalies. You can join the British armed forces at 16 but can't vote in any English election until 18.
  15. Some will only have student photo ID cards, which aren't being accepted for voting. In Wales and Scotland sixteen year-olds can vote in local elections . I'm not sure what kind of acceptable ID they'd already have.
  16. So it seems are the "Green" Cons': https://bylinetimes.com/2023/01/13/conservatives-accused-of-camouflage-campaign-tactics-after-imitating-green-party-leaflets/
  17. So far I've had leaflets from the Greens, Labour and the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC). Read, then recycled. None from the LibDems yet, which is unusual.
  18. To quote @shaunblack7776 "You see disa dub ya no words can explain it out dis iwah" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdttxSuiRaM
  19. I had no colds (or flu) during the pandemic or since. I was fully Covid jabbed and never caught it.
  20. Inspired by a post on the 'And The Best Newsreader Is?' thread:
  21. The subject interests me greatly but, with Ross presenting, I won't be watching.
  22. From the article linked in the OP: The Bank of England and U.K. Treasury said early Monday that they had facilitated the sale of a Silicon Valley Bank subsidiary in London to HSBC, Europe’s biggest bank, ensuring the security of 6.7 billion pounds ($8.1 billion) of deposits.
  23. According to the Mirror online (20:18, 10 March): Jenas tweeted: "Been on air with the one show. I wasn’t down to be doing match of the day tomorrow, but if I was I would of said no and stood with my fellow pundits and @GaryLineker." Jenas has followed in the footsteps of many of his colleagues, who have all stood in solidarity with Lineker. Ian Wright, Alan Shearer, Alex Scott and Micah Richards have all taken to social media to say they will not appear on Match of the Day on Saturday.
