  1. Indeed (or rather it would be if it wasn't in the hours of darkness). Not only via Huddersfield, but also Wakefield Kirkgate, Swinton and Broughton Lane.
  2. It's during the week that it does this. I believe it's so that train crews can retain route knowledge over a (very circuitous) diversionary route.
  3. Not specifically about Sheffield, but I wonder how we might fare in any "ofo vandalism score" that was calculated. https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/feb/04/ofo-bike-share-review-it-will-be-to-cycling-what-uber-is-to-taxis
  4. An interesting read - good to see a couple of mentions for the wonderful High Hazels! https://www.theguardian.com/music/2018/feb/02/made-of-steel-how-south-yorkshire-became-the-british-indie-heartland?CMP=share_btn_tw
  5. Mine is definitely over 12 months so there's still one payment to go after the one that got taken today. I didn't realise there was a 10 month option.
  6. Great - so as with any discussion of taxation any non-contributing respondents will obviously vote for any option that involves those who do contribute paying more.
  7. Agreed, but we shouldn't be subsidising (through additional benefits) to have more than 2 (or possibly three to balance the childless). If people want larger families they should have to bear all the costs of that lifestyle choice.
  8. Exactly. Comments made by Toby Young (or the honourable member for Mansfield) are not relevant to the suitability or otherwise of the 'honourable' member for Sheffield Hallam.
  9. Exactly so. This thread is to discuss a Sheffield MP - not Toby Young or the MP for Mansfield.
  10. Those voting for anything wearing a red rosette have got the MP they deserve.
  11. I think it's fair to ask about the ethnicity. If we were informed that the perpetrators were 'white' it would 'take the wind out of the sails' of those who might wish to assume otherwise.
  12. I understood Newcomer's post and broadly agree. Labour cannot be morally credible until the "honourable" "gentleman" applies for the Stewardship of the Chiltern Hundreds.
  13. I hope you're wrong too. More chance of us being allowed to discuss it on here.
  14. A voice of sanity- thank you. I'd have thought it was easier to be in the habit of indicating every time thereby avoiding the need to assess whether there's anyone around to see each individual manoeuvre.
  15. As a non-driving pedestrian I just cannot understand why so many drivers fail to use their indicators. A huge percentage (possibly even a majority) seem to think it's only (grudgingly) necessary if there is a vehicle immediately behind them. No you braindead imbecile it's an indication (strange that) to AL road users as to what your intentions are on approaching any junction. If you can't understand (and comply with) that on every occasion you are not fit to be in charge of a lethal weapon. You're also a numpty.
  16. Whilst I accept that circumstances could drive any individual with an already nasty temperament towards aggression I suspect that the vast majority of any persons who unfortunately became homeless as a result of the circumstances described in the Guardian article would not be as obnoxious to passers-by as many of those who infest the city centre currently are.
  17. The previous poster would perhaps have been ideally qualified to Move them on.
  18. Perhaps the honourable (?) Mr O'Mara will be in need of a reliable removal service soon though.
  19. I had an Amazon Prime 'specified day' item shown as 'out for delivery' with DPD on Friday 1st December. Having waited in all day I received a text c.14:45 advising that due to 'local circumstances' they would now be unable to deliver the parcel that day, but would instead deliver on Saturday 2nd December. Whilst being a little surprised that they proposed to deliver on a Saturday I again waited in all day. No delivery, no update. The item was finally delivered on Monday 4th. Messrs DPD misguidedly invited me to 'rate their performance' on TrustPilot and I awarded them a somewhat generous '1 Star' (the lowest rating available). I received an email a couple of days later apologising for their incompetence (my word not theirs) which they put down to 'a backlog following Black Friday' and stating that the text advising the item would be delivered on the Saturday was sent in error. Still, Royal Mail have lost/delayed by over 2 weeks at least three items posted to me this year, so overall I'm unsure as to who is least efficient.
  20. I fully understand, appreciate and accept why these audible announcements are becoming widespread. They're still annoying though.
