To all of you saying they are traffic calming measures well i have some info for, in Dore and Totley Brooke, Bradway they have the highest average ownership of car per household! now how many speed humps do u see in those area's? Now Woodthorpe,Manor and Arbourthorne as the least amount of cars per household but has the most speed bumps in Sheffield! The reason for this is that your local rich man and councillor who make these stupid decisions live in the areas that speed humps are rarely seen allowing them to get the least amout of damage to there car while they can happily watch Mr working class wreck his car with these stupid things that do nothing to calm traffic. I was also told by the Police that the higher car crime is in the area the more speed humps there is, whats the point they have stolen the car they dont need to slow down the car has been stolen you idiots.

I am moving the other way (Melbourne) pretty soon and cant wait! i been out there and love it. Me and wife are not born and bred Sheffielder's but we have enjoyed are time here until the last few years, when i first moved here 7yrs ago (although i lived here for aboutb 4yrs b4 that) and the majority of people in this city were friendly and welcoming and really made us feel happy here, i moved to an area i never really knew much about but the houses where new and pretty cheap but it turned out that the area had got a bad reputation (Manor) anyway still here and not half has bad as what the so called "now friendly Sheffield" people make it out to be. The city now is not as good! most of the friendlyness seems to have gone from the city that once made it stand out from all the other cities in the UK! Dont be fooled by people telling you about certain areas to live in as there are few really good areas left except maybe Dore,Totley,Fulwood,Bradway and a few others, i would stay away from places like the Manor,Pitsmoor,Burngreave,Southey green,Firth park,Shirgreen,Shirecliffe,Heeley,Low Edges,Parson's Cross,Ecclesfield,Herdings,Gleadless,Darnall,Woodhouse as they are all pretty similar as much as people try to make they are not. My heart will always be in Sheffield because the friendlyness i got when i came here from good honest hard working sheffielders and still get from my neighbours plus both my children were born here. Sheffield is still a beautiful and great city so dont let me put you off coming and you can make up your own mind when you get but here Australia or sheffield? you will soon find out. Good luck

I cant get over the brainless fools on here saying it would have happened anyway!! Dont talk so stupid, had the moron not made the call the fire engine would not have been anywhere near the accident so it would never had happened. A family has lost someone and they are still worrying about how this will eventually effect the little girl! There is also a fireman who every day risk's his life for YOU and ME that will have to live with the fact that he was involved in an accident that killed someone. If not for the moron who made this call the above would not be happening. Now to give him and Asbo is an insult to the people who will suffer for the rest of their lifes all be a stupid prank. This moron should have at least got some time in prison has an example to any other would be hoaxer that this is what could happen to you if you do something as stupid as this.

Great cause and sorry for your loss! Now i am sorry to put a downer on things for you mate but i was one of the organisers for the Mel Rees tournie that was run for a few years and we tried to do hire a ride and what not but found out that you need to gain your own public liability insurance and it was going to cost a fortune! so check that out first mate as any injuries you will be held responsible. Because its a public event you will also need qualified first aiders and dont go with St Johns as they ask for a massive donation. I would love to help with ideas and pass on ways we raised so much money of you wish? 1 more thing, the auction tends to be a bad idea as most people cant really afford to pay big bucks and u freeze out the average fan who wants a bit of something special himself! we went with selling raffle tickets for all the prizes so everyone had an equal chance of winning. just keep the best 3 items aside and auction them off. I have worked for Stagecoach and first and trust me Stagecoach are the worst company i have ever worked for! Dont do it mate? got to TM travel then maybe first. I will say that potential earnings at First are way above stagecoach, You dont get the penny pinchers at first like you do at stagecoach. Drivers are ok to be fair at stagecoach just like they are at first but for some daft reason the drivers at stagecoach have a problem with first drivers where at first they dont care about Stagecoach! oh and most drivers at stagecoach have been sacked from first. At stagecoach you will work long hours and get paid only for driving time and they are very reluctant to give you a second chance on your test should u fail it the first time at first you get paid when u sign in and can get upto 3 tests, the driving school at first and the facilities for learners is about 40yrs in front of stagecoach. At the end of the day it's upto you and i am just giving you my opinion of both companies and if you do choose stagecoach enjoy the the old falling down porter cabin you get for a canteen. Go to TM travel i have a friend who drives for em and he say's they are fantastic!

I had them here the other week, I was sat in the front room and seen a guy walk down my drive! Anyway i went out and asked what he was doing and he asked if he could have an old swing, old tent poles and i let him take but he should not have walked down my drive to get them without knocking and asking first.

Right you need to catch the 25a if you want the quickest ans will drop you off about 30 second walk from waitrose, the 25a is not as regular as the 75/76. Theres is also the 75/76 they both go down London road and will stop at same stop as 25a, they are very regular so you should be fine getting there. All three can be caught from the Library

Gonzo where did i tar all teenagers? there is a lot of good kids out there and time should be spent on them not the vile filth that hang on street corners! You say we are all to blame? absolute garbage. These youngsters i am on about dont want help and they dont want work they want easy cash and big amounts of it with zero effort gaining it, do you live in the real world? You also mention women getting awards for there work in the community? well sadly one certain female tried to clean up her area in Leeds after her son was killed and now she has been murdered herself. We wont stand together or fight crime or anything else because most people only look after there own world and as long as the crime stays away from them and there family they dont really care. Some people just live in a dream world! When most of us where younger we would do silly things like hedge hopping and if we got caught we crapped ourselfs, i would be to scared to go home if i knew my parents knew what i had been upto. We had respect for pensioners, We had local policeman, Everybody knew everyones parents in your area, We knew how far we could push adults before we got sorted out. We had RESPECT! How many of the above are still around now? none! You can all sit here and say we should do this and that and we need to come together and sort but it will not happen. I dont give a damn about your friends in the police they are no good just like the Judges and M.P's they know where the main area of crime is and they also know the drug dealers, pervs and so on but while its not in areas where Police officials, Judges,and M.P's live they are happy,if the police where to blitz an area like where i live and cut crime then the criminals will move to other areas so let it stay where we know it is and alls ok. After reading paper sunday and reading numerous websites and watching tv programmes the same thing that keeps coming out is the community, parents and society are to blame? Well sorry but the kids using knifes should be locked up without the access to TV's, Computers, Gym's, Magazines, days out, Just give them books about how the families are affected by the crime they have done or give them books that will educate them a bit more and stop making prison so easy. I heard the young guys are saying they carry Knifes for protection from other youths! well if thats the case why are so many youngsters dying that dont have knifes? if it was a matter of protection then surely kids who are getting killed would be carrying knifes which clearly they are not! the kind of kid in my opinion who carries a knife intends to use it easy as that, the reason the non violent kids are getting stabbed is because they are an easy target and the culprit knows this does he not? he wont attack someone like himself becuase he knows there is a chance he will get stabbed himself thats why he picks an easy target. They dont deserve any time or care from society they deserve harder punishment, since the p.c brigade and human rights got involved in everything prisons and police have had there hands tied so ignore the pc brigade like they do in the states and be tough on these vermin.

I would because no child at the age of two should be outside alone at anytime! if u cantact them and nothing happens then fair enough but if the child u are talking about suffers something real bad at a later date would u be able to forgive yourself?

Ha ha i wish! My car cost's me £63 to fill up and i get about 380miles out of it before it's empty. Its not a diesel and i wish i could get 500 miles!

I know what group you are on about to, they knock about town every friday/saturday night. They get on my Bus and just walk on without paying and i often have to get the Police to et them off! I drive past em now everytime i see them at the stop and i get loads of abuse, just imagine if they recognise me when i am in the street and not on bus?? You wont be the last to get trouble from this lot as they are always at it but the Police never seem to do anything about them. Hope u are well anyway mate.

Sandie You must have a big house with the cost of Gas and electricity at the amount you say. What I am finding difficult to understand is if you are at work and your kids are at nursery why your fuel consumption has increased by £35.00 per Month. You say your petrol has increased by £40.00 per month which is £10.00 per week, How many miles do you do, and what type of car do you drive. Food I will agree. We all have the same problem as you describe, but the one thing that concernes me is that you say your Mortgage has increased less than the cost of your Nursery Care. I do understand your concerns and it is difficult for all of us How is fuel costing more?? have been on the moon the last 3 months I do not have a big house and just wait for your next bill to see the gas and electric. I drive a 3 series B.M.W. and my wife now as to travel work in the car to.

Ha ha. This could get me the sack! I was on the 97/98 today and i stopped at the co-op in Totley to get some tissues that i needed badly, i had NO PASSENGERS on the bus i stopped at the BUS STOP THAT'S IN A LAY BY and not blocking any of the road turned off and secured my bus then went and got the tissues and returned back after about 1 minute. Oh and i had 6 minutes to get to the terminus which about 1 minute up the road. Maybe he saw me and made up his own little version?

I am married with 2 kids and at the moment after we pay the bills we have £100 a month spare! At least i dont have to worry about my kids futures as we put money away for the future when things were going well, i refuse to spend my savings and risk my childrens futures. I feel really sorry for people in the same situation as me but without any saving's!!

With the recent credit crunch i sat and looked at how much i have been hit over the last 12 months. My kids nursery fees have shot up £100 a month. Gas gone up £20 a month Electric up £15 a month Fuel on car £40 a month more than before! Mortgage £60 a month Food £20 month Council Tax £5 a month Now i understand that prices will rise but over the last 12 months my bills have risen by £3120 and my wages have risen £738 in the same amount of time. How are we suppose to survive with prices expected to rise even more? What about everyone else?

I cant get over people saying the Police should back off!! If the courts gave bigger and harder sentences to car thiefs or speeding drivers then the driver/ thief may think twice before flooring it when they are flashed by the Police! I do agree that its a awful thing when someone innocent gets killed but lets not forget who the innocent person is? Not the occupants of a stolen or speeding car. I have no sympathy for people killed when trying to evade Police.

Why do people talk garbage all the time? To the lad who say's he pays £1.60p for First to take him 6 stops "you are a liar" first do not have a £1.60p fair! and yes you may only go 6 stops but you can travel from Manor park centre to town using 6 stops or you can go from firth park to town using 7 stops so the amount of stops mean nothing. First do not do a £1.10 promotional offer its always been £1.10 and still is now. I like Tm travel and feel sorry for em as they are not as big and ruthless as First or Stagecoach! Stagecoach are the worst as First tend to stick to the Big cities with routes going to the small town's but Stagecoach move in to small towns drop the price very low and local companies cant compete and become worthless and thats when Stagecoach move in and buy the smaller companies for a rock bottom price after almost making them go Bankrupt! And dont be fooled by lower prices Stagecoach do in Sheffield they are shockingly high in Towns such as Worksop (ask the girl who lives there who always slags first but as only ever used Stagecoach). I understand that Stagecoach are upto there dirty tricks again in Dronfield?

Although the staff are superb at Manor top i would not go for fish and chips! You should go Alberts just a bit further down City Road, good portions, very clean and the food is superb!
