  1. Thats the problem tho. Try to tell the people in charge they need to take a cut - it's like asking Turkeys to vote for Christmas.
  2. In an ideal world maybe, obviously nicely side-stepping the ruin it would do to the economy.
  3. If there is suitable alternative accommodation I don't see why people shouldn't have their benefits cut. A council house is a privilege not a right. ---------- Post added 13-03-2013 at 16:55 ---------- I think MP's 'benefits' are another massive discussion entirely, they get far too much IMO and property is just the tip of the iceberg. You try telling them they need a 'cut' tho
  4. So given that the police have suggested you drop it because you're likely to get in as much trouble, are you still going to press on with the case? If you loose will you be liable for both sides legal fee's??
  5. Gambling is the quiet problem tho, people don't talk it up much - they quietly destroy life savings in secret. Alcohol or drugs are big brash problems, with addicts causing people harm and stealing to fund the habit.
  6. The hills are a great thing, brilliant exercise if you have to walk up one to get home. Old people need to stay fit like the rest of us. The tram is great for getting around as well, the buses link into it quite well.
  7. The e-mail address is that of the sender. Cool thanks. But you link for the screenprint still doesn't work, so the facepalm stands
  8. The doorman would have been intervening to stop a fight breaking out on his doorstep I assume? As usual we only get one side of the story, was the other person being restrained by doormen also - or had they been convinced to leave or calm down?
  9. Why should it matter if you're a woman? You still got drunk and went to have it out with someone. You still should have gone home instead of go to fight. Just because a doorman got in your way and shoved you off doesn't excuse the fact you shouldn't have been doing it in the first place.
  10. Your link doesn't work and you've posted up your e-mail address for all and sundry to harvest and spam. Is there any wonder you get sent this crap? ............................................________ ....................................,.-'"...................``~., .............................,.-"..................................."-., .........................,/...............................................":, .....................,?......................................................, .................../...........................................................,} ................./......................................................,:`^`..} .............../...................................................,:"........./ ..............?.....__.........................................:`.........../ ............./__.(....."~-,_..............................,:`........../ .........../(_...."~,_........"~,_....................,:`........_/ ..........{.._$;_......"=,_......."-,_.......,.-~-,},.~";/....} ...........((.....*~_......."=-._......";,,./`..../"............../ ...,,,___.`~,......"~.,....................`.....}............../ ............(....`=-,,.......`........................(......;_,,-" ............/.`~,......`-...................................../ .............`~.*-,.....................................|,./.....,__ ,,_..........}.>-._...................................|..............`=~-, .....`=~-,__......`,................................. ...................`=~-,,.,............................... ................................`:,,...........................`..............__ .....................................`=-,...................,%`>--==`` ........................................_..........._,-%.......` ...................................,
  11. So is the driving test much easier than it was 20 years ago or something? Why are drivign standards lower today then they were 'back in the day'?
  12. So once again the morons in charge cost the tax payer millions because of some pathetic personal vendetta against a corporation?
  13. Well they would go and build the airport on a big hill. Plus as soon as the weather turn the M62 grinds to a halt, and because the junctions connecting it to other main roads are poorly designed it has a knock-on effect.
  14. Compelling, but it's of course based on the assumption that problem drinkers will just 'cut back' because with their obvious lack of self control they will do just that. Back in reality they will drink as much as they always did, because they can't control themselves. The only people that will cut back are you and me, who only drink occasionally and will drink even less because of the increased cost. I'm sick of stuff being overly taxed because it's 'bad' let me make my own decision for once you bunch of overbearing b*******.
  15. I think it speaks volumes about this project that this is the first time I've heard about it. Is it even available to be used? Why did they not flog the lot off to BT and let them use it, rather than BT going and installing their own fibre network?
  16. Problem is with the everyday motorist, you can fit their knowledge of tyres on the back of a stamp. Most people assume they're just black things you need to have on the car. So they naturally fit the cheapest rubbish they can find to save on costs, not realising that cheap rubbish tyres are just that.
  17. I agree entirely, long gone are places like powerhouse who employed people with actual knowledge. Now we're stuck with minimum wage Wayne and the other uninterested dullards.
  18. That needs to go to a bodyshop, or cheaper just find a new door in the same colour. There's a dent in there that will need pushing/pulling out, then the scratches need sanding down and the lot needs filler to even it all out. Plus paint and a new plastic rub strip and it's not a cheap fix. You could get a door for under £100 tho, swap the locks and electrics over and you're done.
  19. They don't care about you at all, they just want to stuff you into a job and make some money. It doesn't matter if your a deep sea diver or a jet pilot, they'll have you both packing boxes for minimum wage.
  20. They probably had the cheapest poorest quality Chinese rubbish that was offered to them. but the government thinks we need to control speed much more than control the quality of the things that keep our cars on the road.
  21. No-ones forcing people into these places or forcing them to play the games. You don't remove alcohol from shop shelves because people become addicted.
  22. So you got drunk and went to start a fight with someone you don't like. A doorman stopped you and pushed you away. You fault really, you should have gone home. Not a good case for compensation, you'll probably loose you ass in court and face huge fees.
  23. Perhaps it shows what portion of the cabinet actually go to the shop and buy their own wine. It was always another rubbish stealth tax, even more unpopular that fuel tax rises.
  24. Doubtful, if you've got the cash to build a load of flats you've got the cash to afford a nice place of your own. Where is he trying to build flats in Stocksbridge?
