Why use a solicitor? The Financial Ombudsman Service will deal with it for free.

Have you bought one recently? If so please pm me, I've just found the remote.

Those silly "mats" people have on their car bonnet.

Talking of rodent cars, does anyone remember that VW Beetle that was done up to look like a clockwork mouse? Haven't seen it for years. -

It's like a Facebook party out there today. Loads of blue tits, great tits, coal tits and long tailed tits, a nuthatch, two greenfinches (first time this year), a robin, two goldcrests and a new entry on the list - a pair of chiffchaffs with a youngster in tow. Must be the weather! -
Hey good thinking "Have you got any big desk fans please?" "How big?" "Big enough to keep five thousand wasps pinned down in the corner of my loft." Fingers crossed no power cuts ---------- Post added 28-07-2013 at 23:32 ---------- Man from council he say go away. Which means they're all dead now. Which makes me feel like a big ****. But it had to be done.

I think the word is "farmed". Trust me, I know cats
-
Haha. I'm keeping well away, it's flippin' huge. Might put a couple of jam jars in next door's garden to tempt them out

Exactly so

A moment of reflection between cocktails and "beach patrol" I think balance is all important.

We have a new prince called George !! Congratulations thread

So its initials are GAL. When it's actually a fella -
True. And I was sat on a beach in Rhodes last week reflecting that it was happening only 500 miles away. That's like sitting on a beach in Devon while genocide takes place in Scotland. If nothing else, the news reminds us how lucky we are.

Does anybody know such band as THE RUBETTES? looking for Lp's
Chumley replied to marmoore's topic in Entertainment Chat
You've been waiting 40 years to discover The Rubettes. Does another week really matter? -
Must be. I think they're like cats (and people who smoke on the beach) - they gravitate towards the people who dislike them the most

Why is Saturday night always Garbage on Telly.
Chumley replied to PRESLEY's topic in Entertainment Chat
Always is at this time of year. Generally picks up in the Autumn when the holidays and the light evenings are over, ie when more people are at home on a Saturday night. -
Those pesky wasps have made a nest in the loft again this year. Only this time, because I had the soffits repaired in the spring, they're going in and out through a gap in the tiles. Except all the dozy ones going through the wrong gap and ending up flying around the loft instead of inside the nest. Great Luckily the man from the council has a free slot on Saturday so fingers crossed he'll sort them out.

We've also had a GSW visiting regularly over the last few weeks. He/she has been taking huge chunks out of the suet-filled coconut, presumably to feed young. Overall it's been a bit quiet so far this year. For the first time since I made it six years ago, the blue tits shunned the next box and used a tree instead. From the list I posted in January, the ones in bold have been seen (or heard) this year: - regular visitors; chaffinches, blue tits, coal tits, great tits, long tailed tits, goldcrest, tawny owl, wood pigeons, magpies, jays, crows, rooks, blackbirds, robins, dunnocks, wrens and moorhens. - occasional visitors; nuthatches, treecreeper, greenfinches, bull finches, goldfinches, mistle thrush, grey wagtails, redwings, collared doves, greater spotted woodpecker, lesser spotted woodpecker, heron, mallard, mandarin ducks. - rarely; blackcap, sparrowhawk, barn owl, dipper, kingfisher. Shame about the moorhens as they've nested for the last three years. -
+1 for Ferrybridge. Eggborough only has one thin chimney. I had a fantastic view of these two and Drax from Ringinglow Road on Tuesday evening. Unfortunately I didn't have a decent camera with me. I think only six are visible now as Thorpe Marsh was demolished last year. The three above are roughly North-East while West Burton, Cottam and High Marnham are to the East.

Shiraz has been Persepolis for at least a couple of years now. It got a pretty poor rating from the hygiene inspectors 18 months ago but I've eaten there recently and didn't come to any harm. The menu is mostly chicken, lamb and rice (like most middle eastern restaurants).

People using mobiles while paying for their shopping
Chumley replied to fairyworld14's topic in General Discussions
I can't even hold a conversation with the person next to me and pay for my shopping at the same time. I was doing it in Tesco the other day and didn't notice the self checkout going ballistic until the assistant pointed out I'd put four bottles of wine in my bag without scanning them -
Did you find a scarf near Dore station this morning and hang it on the fence so it wouldn't get trodden on? If so many thanks, it's now been returned to its owner (not me)
