  1. I hope it doesn't happen. Manchester, Bristol and Liverpool have these types of areas and they're all exactly the same. Horrible identikit crap.
  2. I agree that people moving to a country should make an effort to learn the language. However, many of the service users do know English but not to a high enough standard to understand medical terms and procedures, which is understandable. To me anyway. A lot of these service users are employed and can operate perfectly well in work/society whilst improving their English. They pay their way. Why should they not be allowed to have an interpreter? I think you could look elsewhere for money to grit the roads. ---------- Post added 18-12-2014 at 12:32 ---------- I'm guessing you weren't a resident, having paid into their tax system. Also guessing you weren't insured. Oops.
  3. At least you can't say the ending is cliched! ---------- Post added 18-12-2014 at 09:23 ---------- We Are the Best - 8/10. Swedish comedy based on a graphic novel about three tomboys that start a punk band. Really good fun! Moebius - 8/10. Korean film made with no dialogue. I was also pretty speechless after watching it. Imaginative but pretty disturbing!
  4. St Vincent - 8.5/10. Biased Bill Murray fan. Laughed all the way through.
  5. Rurouni Kenshin 2 - 8/10. Fantastic fighting action and a good conversion of the Manga. Enjoyed it as much as the first and can't wait for the third!
  6. Trustfull is a coach in the Ajax youth setup now.
  7. If you go to Amazon and find the DVD you want, there's a section just underneath the list price that has the title available from other sellers. A lot of the time you can get things very cheap.
  8. Very sad. I didn't know him really but we had a few chats about music and he always seemed like a really sound guy. A lot of people I know were close to him and they're understandably gutted. I saw Wet Nuns a bunch of times and Baba Naga just the once, about a month ago. They were fantastic.
  9. Hunger Games: Mockingjay - 7/10. It's alright. You'll like it if you enjoyed the others. What We Do in the Shadows - 7/10. Didn't love it as much as a lot of people seemed to but plenty of laughs. Selfish Giant - 8.5/10. Great film. If you like Kes, give it a go. Imitation Game - 8.5/10. Incredibly sad end to a fantastic story. Really well crafted.
  10. They were advertising jobs for a December start so I'm guessing so.
  11. Journey to the West - Conquering the Demons. 7/10. Absolutely barmy Stephen Chow film. Based on the same legend as the Monkey Magic series. Honestly, properly mad.
  12. Metro Manila - 8/10. Story of a struggling family that move to Manila and endure some hardships. Few nice twists, well worth a watch. The Drop - Fairly low key crime yarn. Tom Hardy mumbles a bit. Gandolfini calls it in. Decent watch though. 6.5/10.
  13. Interstellar - 8.5/10. Don't understand the derision it's got personally. A great film. Serial Killer Culture - 8/10. Documentary about people that collect serial killer artefacts and art. Well made but a bit too much time spent on silly bands. Shivers - 7/10. Cronenberg's first film. Bit rough round the edges but a decent enough watch. Rigor Mortis - 6/10. Hong Kong horror film that does some things well but too many bits that fall flat and I got a bit bored. Like a humourless version of Mr Vampire.
  14. 20,000 Days on Earth - 8/10. Suppose it boils down to whether you like Nick Cave or not. I do.
  15. How would asking you to put it on your bag or coat be not giving a hoot about your dying grandfather? You're talking nonsense.
  16. "Girls, can you put those badges on your bags or coats please? Thank you." Nothing more needs to be written about this.
  17. Downturn in the weather has kept me cooped up in the cinema and at home so I saw three films yesterday. Horns - 7.5/10. I can see people giving this 5 or 6 but it just hit my buttons. Really funny and plenty of twists. The Taking of Deborah Logan - 8/10. Creepy horror with a few jumpy bits. Some of it is found footage but I have to say it's one of the best I've seen for a long time. Magnificent performance from the lead. Kon-Tiki - 9/10. I loved this. Some of the best CGI that I've ever seen and a fantastic true story.
  18. Had a great time, even though a lot of the beers sold out. Looking forward to the next one.
  19. Gutted they had this fire. They made the place really nice and the service and food were spot on.
  20. The magicians on Fargate were great and went to the Spooky Magic Show which was good too. But apart from that, rubbish. The organisers didn't seem to understand the comic/sci-fi/horror community at all. Fright Night was great.
  21. They certainly aren't heroes in this film, lecherous sex pests if anything. Horrible film. 0/10. ---------- Post added 03-11-2014 at 09:55 ---------- Maze Runner - 7.5/10. I enjoy these sort of films, although they're nothing special. Enjoyed it.
  22. Comparing some kids in Morrisons car park to Gum Ball Rally. I've seen it all now.
