  1. Slugger Skate Shop in the Forum on Division Street. Support an independent business!
  2. Can't fault car parking really. Loads of it and it can be had for as little as 70p an hour. Compare this to Leeds city centre!
  3. I'm impressed with how the refurb turned out. My only gripe - I went into on of the old premiere screens, perhaps 19? They changed the entrance so that you now go in through the same entrance as screen 8 etc... The door is bang next to the screen! Very distracting when you're watching a film and people are in and out.
  4. They said the scum of the village, not that everyone in the village is scum.
  5. I'm pretty sure the designated spaces are park and ride only till about 6.30pm. Can't remember exactly but it said something like that on the signs.
  6. I watched a film in screen 12 on Wednesday and noticed a bit of noise before the film although once it was on, the sound was drowned out. However, the screen was very plush having had work done to it, very nice seats! I'm an unlimited card holder so complimentary tickets aren't really of any use but I'll put up with it if all the screens are going to be like screen 12. However, what I will say (and this isn't Cineworld's fault) is that the parking at the rear being used for park and ride makes it hard to get a space in the school holidays, even in the day. That was a terrible decision.
  7. Hi, I'm an old tennant of Regent Court. Even though I am very happy in my home now, I do miss the place sometimes! It felt like being on holiday on a sunny day coming out of that flat. I have a lot of memories of that place and the people, for the most part, were lovely. Just to add my little bit about Tony Christie. I used the launderette in the flats and one day I received an email at work. It was a news letter about Tony's new album and on the email was a photograph of Tony in a launderette. I thought it looked familiar and after printing it out and comparing it, it was indeed that launderette! I gave the printout to a lady called Betty, she told me he used to live there and at the time, she put the photo on the noticeboard. That's going back a few years now though. I used to live on the fourth floor and had a really weird guy living below me. Oh, the memories of being woken up at 4am to the sound of an ABBA record playing at the wrong speed...
  8. OK, I don't really understand how the courts work, I assumed it would have been sorted by now. Thanks for the info!
  9. Been a while since these changes have been done now and I have to say, if anything it's made Penistone Road worse, especially where the roundabout was. Massive **** up.
  10. Well, I didn't say that but I don't disagree with it.
  11. Where did they say it would be acceptable to everyone else? Their point was that you make the choice and so you alone decide if it's OK.
  12. Whilst there, neither I nor my very heavily tattooed friend had many issues at all. My friend was asked to wear a jacket, which was provided for him, in the New York Grill in the Hyatt Tower. Although, this was quite a posh place where we paid a cover charge for the jazz band so I wasn't all that surprised!
  13. To me, the fact that Hitler used it doesn't alter it's original meaning. Same with lightning bolts or the skull and crossbones. Of course, it's different if being presented in a context which clearly supports Nazism. And even then, just because it's unacceptable to me doesn't me it's unacceptable to everyone. ---------- Post added 23-03-2015 at 11:39 ---------- Tattoos have become much more common in Japanese culture over the last five years. I wouldn't automatically be suspicious of any Japanese man with tattoos.
  14. This seems to be it, I have joined up. https://www.ourwatchmember.org.uk
  15. Is there an active Neighbourhood Watch in the area? If not, I'd be willing to help put one together as a resident.
  16. So, I've come to renew my insurance this year and it's shot right up. I'm happy to insure without flood cover as the flooding to my property was very minor. Anyone got any tips or managed to get reasonable insurance in the affected Hillsborough area?
  17. All the main ones have been covered but I'd chuck Claude Davis in there too. £3 million.
  18. I hope it doesn't happen. Manchester, Bristol and Liverpool have these types of areas and they're all exactly the same. Horrible identikit crap.
  19. I agree that people moving to a country should make an effort to learn the language. However, many of the service users do know English but not to a high enough standard to understand medical terms and procedures, which is understandable. To me anyway. A lot of these service users are employed and can operate perfectly well in work/society whilst improving their English. They pay their way. Why should they not be allowed to have an interpreter? I think you could look elsewhere for money to grit the roads. ---------- Post added 18-12-2014 at 12:32 ---------- I'm guessing you weren't a resident, having paid into their tax system. Also guessing you weren't insured. Oops.
  20. Trustfull is a coach in the Ajax youth setup now.
  21. If you go to Amazon and find the DVD you want, there's a section just underneath the list price that has the title available from other sellers. A lot of the time you can get things very cheap.
